when i say gratuitous i don't mean like a brief shot of a titty while she turns around or something, i mean full blown "here is a woman floating naked in some sci-fi goop lets focus the camera squarely on her nipple for a good 5 seconds while some idiots yak about plot in the background."

TNG is pretty nice 'idealist' view of the future but DS9 is what gave Star Trek some realistic plausibility imo by showing that, yes, humanity is still deeply flawed and the universe is a hosed up place and garak owns
