Spall Talk spalltalk.blogspot.com RSS Feed Comedy/Film Discussion Updates every other week At the beginning of 2017, my brother and I began a podcast where we discussed movies featuring Timothy Spall because of a pun I made on Twitter. Now we've just released our 25th episode. Every other week, we watch a film featuring Timothy Spall, and get into an often tangential conversation about it, sometimes with guests. It's in the vein of I Don't Even Own A Television in that we try to mix humor and criticism/discussion, as well as the fact that we've borrowed heavily from their episode structure. I'd recommend first listening to episode 24, on 2017's The Journey, as an introduction, both because it's our first podcast of 2018 and because it features guest Shannon Strucci, host of So You Want To Be A Film Nerd. Aside from that standouts include our episodes on The Last Samurai (Episode 9), Sucker (Episode 16), The Damned United (Episode 17), Jackboots On Whitehall (Episode 19), Reuniting The Rubins (Episode 21), and our latest episode (Episode 25), about Vanilla Sky. The audio quality is admittedly inconsistent at best, but onward and upward. I Before E fucked around with this message at 02:54 on Feb 8, 2018 |

You can sync these episodes up to the source material, but I would not recommend it because the John Cena match isn't very good and Surviving Edged Weapons has a lot of pictures of actual knife wounds, and that's not vibes. But what is vibes is listening to us talk about which cops use the N word (all of them) as well as a lot of other tangential things.

Please read those testimonies at your own pace. In this episode, Jessie and Brian join us to discuss more Transmetropolitan, how the reaction to this work was instrumental in creating the fan community Ellis would go on to exploit, and what genuine insights make this book compelling enough even today that it could create that sort of community. We also do a draft of our favorite cinema snacks because we need something to talk about that doesn't make us extremely despondent about the failures of institutions to protect those who trust them.
