Flea110 posted:I've recently discovered Law & Order SVU and have nearly completed season 13, which I've been enjoying a lot. Is it worth it to start from season 1 after this or are there certain seasons I should avoid or watch first? The early eps are...weird, in a "we're not quite sure what to do with this" sort of way. But then again, season 1 also has Dean Winters which automatically makes it the best season. Seasons 8-12 just sort of descend into bizzaro land, with lines like the oft-quoted "TURN ON THE SUN" (with a plotline devoted to tracking a pedophile through Second Life) the whole animal smuggling episode, etc. Although the animal smuggling one did lead to this also, while trying to find that image, i found this one on tumbler with no description, anyone know WTF the context of this is?

I vaguely recall him leading Lenny up into an apartment block while holding open a laptop he was somehow using to radar detect a hacker....

That'd be s6e2, Rebels (the one Moose Bigelow mentioned just above.) They had some IT guy with an absurd antenna thing that did the tracking, but there was a laptop involved somehow too.

The fact that Lennie only ever like once answered a cell phone in the entire course of his time on the show is one of my favourite sort-of-running-jokes on the show.

He was in Kangaroo Jack after all. Plus McCoy moved on from prosecuting. But holy poo poo. It was getting REALLY good again before NBC decided to can it.

Yeah, I've said it before, but shaking up the cast for Season 18 was exactly what the show, and the writers, needed. Martin and Sisto didn't work out too well together, but once Anderson came aboard, holy poo poo. McCoy as the reluctant bureaucrat was an excellent running story, too. Everything was such a breath of fresh air after the horror that was Season 17. The show could have easily gone for another few seasons ... unfortunately, NBC decided it would be fun to move it from Mondays to Wednesdays to Fridays and back to Wednesdays, and when you do that, you're going to hemorrhage viewers, no matter what.

Actually L&O Philly/Camden could be interesting. Like either or, but the stuff frequently crosses over. Plus, I'm pretty sure with how crap the cities are, I think they're actually paying people to film there. (All I know is a friend of mine shot an "art film" in philly and didn't have to pay a dime for permits). Or Law and Order: somalia? \/\/ Canada would definitely be interesting. Law & Order: SVU: Supernatural, a L&O series set in the Supernatural universe. L&O is already set in bizzaro world, they have to go all the way. In the first episode a demon possesses a judge who also happens to run a massive pedophile ring and they have to prove he was not possessed when he created the ring. Because he's possessed it's ruled that his demon can preside over the case.

Wasn't one of Ron Moore's post-BSG show ideas something like a supernatural police procedural . . . detectives investigating ghosts and poo poo, Tricia Helfer playing the team's M.E./necromancer, stuff like that? I want a Law and Order that show . . . with Jack McCoy still being the DA.

So I'm catching up on this season of SVU, and while I'm disappointed at the lack of Munch (which is kinda expected considering that Belzer's been doing stand-up and isn't exactly a spring chicken anymore) I'm actually really liking the dynamic between the two new cops when they're partnered together. I thought that Diane Neal and Stephanie March were meant to be alternating as ADA this year? Cabot has appeared a lot this season, but Novak has been in hardly any episodes?
