I actually like the Phaeston (VIII) on my Turian Sentinel. It's light enough to keep my power recharge speed high, and it seems powerful enough with a piercing mod. Should I just stick to a Talon with scope/piercing?

I've only been able to finish out one game today, out of about five. I just played a game on Condor/Geth/Gold, only to have it crash with 16 seconds left in the extraction wave :suicide:

What the hell is keeping this game from banking credits immediately after a wave ends? It would make these crashes much less frustrating

The worst part of Banshees is that they render Vanguards impotent, since it's almost a certainty that they'll instakill you after charging. I guess that's the tradeoff for making them Phantom-destroyers

So when Phantoms put up their bullshit shields, are they also immune to grenade damage? On a recent Gold match, I hit one with multiple multi-frags and it didn't take any damage, but it still took damage from my guns.

I've made the step up from Silver to Gold on 360 and it seems like I'm coming in first or second in each round, despite having just a Harrier I and Hurricane I/Talon I on my Destroyer. Since I'm not any good at console shooters, I'm just going to assume that the other pubbies are worse

After endless months of playing, I've finally unlocked a Kroguard and now I don't want to play as any other class. Is this normal?

I specced it 6/0/6/6/6 because I don't really care about Carnage

Mine did have a red hue, so it could have been lag issues. I played my first game in weeks today with the N7 Destroyer and there were no enemies on the map, although I was shot to death multiple times before rage-quitting. With level 3 consumables equipped, of course.

On the other hand, I didn't have any lag issues with the Kroguard. I played a couple of Silver rounds to try out the class and dominated both times.

2 kills is fantastic with area damage on Charge - just put a couple of bullets into two low-level enemies and Charge them for instant rage

But it doesn't sync kill you. At least it's pretty difficult to get close enough to find out. You're thinking of a Praetorian, which is about as dangerous as an Atlas. Unfortunately there tend to be quite a few of them floating around at any given time.

Really, if you're fighting Collectors, pack a sniper rifle. Two snipers and a Volus and some other dude on Reactor/Collectors/Gold was a piece of cake. Try to get up close and personal and it's a rez tag meat grinder.

I'm pretty sure that one just sync killed me - I charged him with my Kroguard and then he went into an animation where he crushed me, leaving me un-reviveable.

Kroguard is drat near useless against Collectors.

Even though FBW Geth is arguably tougher now, I still think it's a bit easier than Reapers or Collectors. You just have to stay more mobile due to the Bombers.

In other news, a Banshee just grabbed my Kroguard mid-Charge. Instead of being held in midair by the Banshee, I just floated a few feet away before dying.

I managed to drag the team to round 9, having used all of my remaining missiles and medigels before getting flushed out of cover by a bomber, only to getting gangbanged by a couple of pyros and a prime. I could have actually made it out alive, too, but my ops pack didn't work despite mashing the button a good five or six times. Of course, none of the other pubbies had used any missiles. During any wave.

I consider myself to be a mediocre player (at best), so it's always a surprise when I end up carrying a team. Unfortunately, it's been happening too often since the new DLC.

Yeah, adding the Bomber completely unbalanced Geth because it's basically a mobile Turret with a smaller hitbox that attacks you through cover. Sprinting around to a different spot on the map is the best way to deal with them, but then that opens you up to getting hit by a cross-map Prime blast.

On a side note, the challenges are a great way to force you into new classes. I almost exclusively play as a Kroguard or Destroyer, but I had fun with my Human Engineer yesterday. Now I just need to respec him to take advantage of the new tech burst changes

Complete aside - is it me, or is tough to find FB Jade Gold games on XBox? FBW remains the most popular, and Dagger, Glacier and Giant pop up occasionally, but everyone runs away if I try to start a Jade match. A shame, too, since it's my favorite map - it offers a combination of close and long-range fighting, while not being unmanageably large.

Are Banshees able to sync-kill you on ramps now? I just got taken down on one of the long ramps in Giant. Not a big deal, but it takes away one of the easier ways to deal with Banshees as a vanguard.

Turian Havoc is literally The Worst Class. Havoc Strike does pitiful damage (especially compared to Charge) and Cryo Blast does even less.
