Kill-9 posted:Found this at Cars and Coffee in Austin. I'd never seen one in person. It had a for sale sticker on it: $73K and it was yours. I could build that if only I had the tools.

Kill-9 posted:Same here. Oh yeah, and if I had the skills. Or the money. Or the time. But other than that, sure, I could totally build one too. There's maybe $10,000 worth of parts there but around $30,000 in tools.

I subscribe to Modified Magazine for tech articles and get a random other car magazine for ideas from the store. I like classic Hot Rod and truck magazines for looking at suspension ideas.

My mom's 5cyl. Colorado is a piece of poo poo with the worst turning radius I have ever seen in a car or truck. It's falling apart quite literally as in the rear lights have fallen off, the third brake light has melted completely, the power windows no longer work, the IAC clogs constantly, the thermostat has broken, it has gone through at least 3 batteries, the CD player is broken, the seals around the door leak and let water in which might have something to do with the doors actually never closing right. There is probably more but American cars are built like poo poo.

GentlemanofLeisure posted:They had an article on jalopnik a few days ago about the weird poo poo Mazda did in the 80s and early 90s. I think that engine was developed for their new luxury line (think Lexus or Infiniti) that they were developing called Amanti or something. And yeah, that was the engine they were going to put in all those cars. And that is why we were stuck with the piece of poo poo BP and FS-DE combination for so long in actual Mazda cars.

The SR isn't that great compared to anything Honda was making at the time. I don't know why you assume I am such a SR20 lover.

Nitromethane is already a coolant, the extra at idle is because it's very inefficient until you can put some heat in to the combustion chamber. (That is my experience with meth fueled four cylinders.)
