I paid $1 for a rusty-as-all-gently caress VW Beetle. I drove it for a year. I have no regrets since it saved me from the city bus (where I was always really early for work or slightly late and a ten minute trip would take an hour).

Ugh. There was nothing particularly wrong with the PT when it came out, and it sold a bunch and made a lot of money and did wonders for Chrysler's CAFE. It was the right car at the right time. Now, by the 8th year or whatever they had still kept it in production with an outdated drivetrain, yeah it was pretty uncompetitive and maybe they should have replaced it, but probably not because the whole retro thing was probably on the way out.

When the Neon first came out, they were all over the loving place. Same with the Cruiser. Now, if I see two Neons in a month, it's a miracle. I do still see quite a few Cruisers, though.

They did a snakeskin overlay on the wheels and then some snake-related vinyl on the back.
