None of the mechanics are obtuse in the slightest. Quests are missable but if you're on the ball and check the bulletin board where they're listed after every plot event, and make sure to explore for secret quests you shouldn't miss any. There's also a side quest where you collect chapters of a book in exchange for the final weapon of either Joshua or Estelle which you might want a guide for.

Now I'm super hype again Does anyone have a rough ETA on when FC is supposed to come out, so that I don't have an excuse to bust out my psp copy?

Idk if they have this for the PC version but levels over 35 carry over to the next game, and max BP gives you a few things that might be useful. It's not that hard to max out though as long as you don't pick stupid responses during quests, and keep exploring/checking back for new quests. Watch out for unlisted quests though!

pun pundit posted:Cool. Bought. Anything I should know about mechanics or character progression gotchas? Nope. Well, time magic owns and is cool and good. The game is very straightforward aside from the missable quests.

There's a map button that shows you a world map. e: My game crashed when I tried to retry after my NPC died in an escort mission. Might be another bug. SC Bracer fucked around with this message at 18:02 on Aug 9, 2014 |

Terper posted:I could have, but I like a more spread moveset right now. I think you only get the quartz you need for it in the second chapter at earliest. And then you can nuke everything with literal hellbats.

animatorZed posted:Chaos brand makes pretty much any non-immune enemy/boss encounter highly amusing. Almost nothing resists it too, until the very endgame. I never realised how good it was until this run, where I spent most of the game laughing while enemies beat each other to death. Spending some time grinding up the sepith is so worth it. Also Olivier has such an op orbment line. It didn't hit me how good it was until I was trying to get a decent setup on Kloe, who has 3 water locks as opposed to 1 mirage lock. And then you have stuff like Zane who had more spells than my dedicated casters because of the stats spread I gave him but they were all the really lovely low tier ones.

The Colonel posted:I just beat Nayuta no Kiseki, now I've just started on New Game+. Hopefully Xseed will release it in the US at some point in time, the fan translation was full of typos but the game was pretty drat great. Wish there was a way to skip the cutscenes, though, they tend to go on a bit long and it's not quite Falcom's best written game, at least going by... the fan translation that was laden with spelling errors. Is the story text also translated, or just menus?
