And the Dino Fury new episodes are up! The first episode was pretty okay. Some good humor, a neat Ollie focus, but nothing amazing. The second was really good. Slyther is proving to be just as entertaining as his Ryusoulger counterpart, and Solon and Zayto's dynamic is still really sweet and funny. Also, more Aiyon setup. The third was the best. Amelia got some really good focus along with her grandfather, the villain's mood blast attacks had some really funny moments, and it was cool to see Amelia taking charge, using the T-Rex Blazing Zord, with only a minimal Javier assist.

I still maintain that one of the best modern fights is the one in the lab in the Beast Morphers pilot, they use the space and props well, and there's a bit of verticality The Dino Fury pilot also has some great usage of items around the based during the fight. Though that's in-suit original footage.

You know, to be quite honest, I still would be very interested in the universe where Saban hung up Zyuranger once they were out of footage and then they adapted the seasonal approach going forward until waiting for Lost Galaxy/Lightspeed Rescue Like, what would the Dairanger and Kakuranger adaptations look like? Watched Dino Fury 15. I can't tell if Aiyon's/Jordan Fite's voice is naturally that high and soft or if that's just the usual PR problem of ADR sounding a bit odd/off.

Okay, just watched 16, the accent is growing on me, and also there's some really cool plot stuff Wreckmate is going to be a fun addition to the villain line-up, Aiyon will be interesting to see how he shakes up the group dynamic and has individual relationships with the rest of the team but even right now he's got a solid rapport with Zayto that will carry him

I'm still trying to think about modern 'original' 'toku' shows. Like, the best I can think of would be the slightly more supernatural/sci-fi based kid sitcoms of Disney and Nickelodeon: The Secret World of Alex Mack, Henry Danger, Lab Rats, Mighty Med, Mech X-4, etc.
