You did not know.

Diog. Is it the altar that is the "big deal" in a temple (along with the sacred oils and ashes and items?)
Yes. The altar itself is a sacred object.

Affi posted:

Could you move the altar to the fort in case the city is threatened? Would that make it more okay to abandon it?[/b]
El's shrine or temple should be in the midst of a settlement. In a city, it is traditionally in the center. In other settlements or villages, it may be on the edges of the settlement but still a short walk away. It should be where the people are.

WhiteOutMouse posted:

What % is our population made up of Ilbeam guys and gals?
A substantial portion of Kavodel are Ibleamites. The rest are mostly poor people from Zepath, Tanaach and a few other places, as well as specialists you imported and craftsmen and traders who came on their own.

Also, Diog, can we check our PIE meter. Let's see how we are doing after that run. It could be that boost was really only meant to warn Tanaach and prevent a terrible fight from taking place within the city, which would kill thousands.

Ask if the high priest of Taanach will send out a distress-call.

re: My question about the altar in our shrine. You are saying that if a monster attack comes and we decide to hole up inside our fortress. (at a future date when that fort is built) we can pick up the altar and the items and head there?

Ask Rimush if he plans to break out the sacred ashes and oils? What is your battle plan if there is an army with siege units, trebuchets, a stealth unit of daemons backstabbing the city? How can we best communicate with you if we leave to scout right now? Where do you want us in the battle?

Consider that a write in vote I suppose? You have a vague awareness that apparently temples can communicate in some way? The details are very fuzzy and you don't truly know their capacity to do such or how it works.

Ask Rimush if he truly intends to take on an army with nothing but Mighty Men? Remind him of Ibleam, where Mighty Men were tied down by Norc Mighty Men, and the rest of the army hosed things up

I think that's exactly what he's thinking of, and counting on the walls and house men to protect the city while they're entangled. And possibly us as well.

I would feel more comfortable joining him in the battle but it looks like we can't keep up, so let's not pull a Uriah and follow his wishes. However ask:

Could we have access to the vault and those special items? If the worst happens and we are the strongest man left in the city, those artifacts could come in handy. Of course, we would only use them if things were so dire, in order to prevent another Ibleam.

It's possible that the Melachim aren't capable of giving us SPECIFIC boosts without seriously loving us up somehow. Perhaps the super strength and such was a package deal with the super speed, and they figured it wasn't worthwhile to block it off as it wasn't as potentially dangerous as Ball Trancing.

On a side note, I'm not sure? But if we got to Tanaach in the space of a day, and that thing took three days to cross what would normally take ten, I think we're actually a good bit faster than the thing. If it breaks off from Tanaach to hit Kavodel, we could catch up to it or outrun it to Kavodel.

Actually, come to think of it, changing my vote.

2: J: Request to follow just long enough to see what the thing actually is and guess at what it might be capable of, before going back to Tanaach to defend it and be sure that the people are ready for whatever might come. If he says no, stay in Tanaach to defend it.

Part of it is just plain curiosity, but it does actually make some tactical sense to know our enemy. If we're fast enough, we should be able to make it out and back in time to ensure that Tanaach is ready to go - or even in a worst-case scenario, to break open the vaults if Rimush suddenly decides he needs that poo poo once he gets a look at it.

A weird time in which we are alive. We can travel anywhere we want, even to other planets. And for what? To sit day after day, declining in morale and hope.
2) I - we will aid in the last line of defense. If anything, hopefully Rimush and his MM tie up the large demon, and we aid the men of Tanaach against whatever army slips by.

Ibleam fell because siege weapons got within range. This is actually a good plan -he's going to tackle the big guns head on away from the city, and when the auxiliary forces slip by, they have a big, black, buff, supercharged Enkidel and the remaining forces of Tanaach to deal with.

Ask Rimush if he would have us lead the defense of Tanaach ourselves if we stay, or is there someone he would have us defer to?

True, but we very well might be more powerful than most MM at this time. It's worth asking if he wishes us to lead the defense or someone else, if just to avoid any silly chain of command issues.

What will you do?

Rimush says "Take most my Mighty Men and engage them in the field. If a demon has risen from the depths, even a victory beneath the walls of our city would cause many deaths."

It would just be really weird to put the defense of the city in Enkidel's hands. Enkidel isn't from Tanaach, and he doesn't know anything about how to run it's defenses or guards. The job is better suited to some hundred year old Mighty Man with experience in leading Tanaach's people.
