Adulting is stupid. I had both cards auto paying and paperless billing so I'd forgotten about them. I got yearly statements and said "gently caress it" and just paid them off. The only credit card debt I have is a Kohls card with $187 left on it. But I am very cash poor now so I'm being frugal and only spending money I make selling stuff on ebay. If I sell the MS6 I could probably justify buying a FiST though.

Oh I forgot, I also have this stupid IRS settlement I have to pay off but they re-evaluated the settlement and reinstated the fees we'd negotiated away so I have to have my lawyer look at that poo poo again which is stupid.

I cruised around with one for about half an hour here today. White w/ Blue stripes. Sounded and looked mean as gently caress. If it was within my budget I’d do it in a heartbeat. As it is I’m looking towards picking up a 5.0 here after the Fiesta is paid off in a few years.

Wife test drove a kia stinger 3.3 gt. I had to scold her for not having stick and waiting for the g70. Also the car is too powerful/smooth to be fun.

We live in okc now so just straight highways mainly. Also she got a VW alltrack she hasnt tuned in October. Not trading for a twice as expensive car after a few months to commute to an oilfield parking lot. She can learn the 350z clutch if she wants something sportier.

I was reading the IS38 was a little laggy on the 1.8T with the dsg. If I was driving it would be ok with a stick but a family wagon with an auto? Not sure. Anyone have experience?

I've been planning on getting a fist for literally 3 years now but now that my lease is almost up I really been eyeing the Civic Coupe EXT in manual.

And then (potentially) void warranty, have worse brakes/suspension, and lack a LSD...but yeah if you don't care about any of that and want to save $$ the EX-T is an excellent choice.

“Voiding” warranties isn’t really a thing though. They may decline your engine work if you blow it up running too much boost but if you roll in for an unrelated warranty issue it’ll get fixed.

Does the lag on throttle by wire really bum anyone else out or is it just me? I notice it on my FiST and as much as I’ve grown used to it, I really just want my throttles to behave like the old days when they were cable-operated.

It's acceptable in my GTI. Better than my Golf TDI was at least. You could blip the throttle at idle and it would barely register and maybe go up a couple hundred RPM at most. Getting my S2000 made it so painfully noticeable too.

It was bad on my 14 mustang, big reason why I got rid of it. My 08 ranger with a stick is more fun to drive.

My apologies if this isn't the thread for this kind of post.

I've been driving a 2004 Toyota Matrix since, well, 2004, and while there's nothing really mechanically wrong with it, I've decided that it's time for be to buy my first car as an adult. I love hatchbacks and am fairly set on getting one. However, I'm not very in touch with the car world, and I would appreciate any opinions on the cars I've narrowed my list down to. I'm planning on buying 2018 models, but again, not super knowledgeable, so if there's an older model that's better, I'm certainly open to suggestions.

Civic Sport Touring
Fit EX-L
Forte5 SX
Rio EX
Mazda 3 Grand Touring

So far I've only been able to test drive the Mazda 3, which I enjoyed a lot. I'm going to drive the Civic and Fit tomorrow. Apparently, no one within 500 miles of me has a Rio EX or Forte5 SX, which is unfortunate.

Is there any other cars I should look at? 30k is kind of my upper limit. I thought about maybe looking at a Golf, but I'd rather a GTI and that's a little more than I want to spend right now.

Where are you? You should be able to get a left over '17 GTI for well under your $30k limit if you aren't in Canada or something.
