Related to Nav's backstory , one thing I have always been curious about was how exactly "assimilating Agatha" works. If I remember correctly, the other characters showed up to a room full of a bloody gory mess and new Totally Rogue Nav. Fiction-wise, is it just that some of Nav's bits are made of Agatha now, or is there more to it in your mind Plaz?

WolfShirt asking about Drakkenhall made me think about LPDND's adventures in Leng and now I'm dreaming up a labyrinth-styled Drakkenhall. It's kind of making me want a 13th age version of the Jim Henson Labyrinth movie, only with the Blue instead of David Bowie. " You've fought your way to the center of the labyrinth and the Blue peers down at you with her ponderous, timeless eyes, takes in a deep, rumbling breath and greets you in a voice like falling mountains: You remind me of the babe."

I'm loving how fast the updates have been coming lately! :allears:

After the long break between updates I started listening through the whole campaign again and have been really inspired to draw some stuff. Here's some fanart from back when Margaret first became the boat captain, and then was accused by a druid of riding in a vessel made of the corpses of dead tress.

I think that's an awesome idea, Ironicus.

Also, I am super hyped about New Nav and started working on some art of him as soon as I got what was going on, but in the meantime have some art of Nav wallwalking during the arena battle in Drakkenhall. Why is he suddenly basically a spider? Because Nav.

Also the one thing I am kind of disappointed about regarding the scale heist is that I'd assumed we'd get scenes where the party had to interact with at least one of The Three, and it never happened. Wanted to see an ancient, sorcerous bureaucrat of a dragon. I hope it happens in the future! The Blue wouldn't let her hoard go THAT easily, right?

Speaking of Ambisagrus' characters, after getting thrown into pits of monsters all the live long day, Rip just needs some time to relax.

Also, I feel like a bad person for enjoying New Nav as much as I do when everyone else hates him, including Plaz. :( I just love when Plaz's characters dick over the whole party all the time I guess.

I agree with everyone's love for Guilder and the Intern, and my other favorite part was Mint calmly talking to the Golden Wyrm Knight about his feelings. I would watch the adventures of Elven Therapist Mint. The credits would probably be very reminiscent of Mister Rogers.

Could anyone else tell that the long awaited new player was Wolfshirt just from the character picture? I think it's the poo poo-eating grin that gave it away. After Manuel's Tuxedo Mask introduction I'm beginning to wonder if by the end of the campaign all the characters will become animes. I mean, Rip already has a stand and everything.

I could tell, but not because of the poo poo-eating grin. I knew because it was a snazzy beastman and that's all Wolfshirt does. At this point, I'm pretty sure he's not actually human, and is just some crazy Canadian owlbear or something.

I'm thrilled you like it! At this point you guys have given me years of free entertainment between two tiers of DND and 13th Age. Just want to make sure you guys feel the love in return. :allears: And may I say that this last session was probably my favorite session of 13th age you guys have ever done. While I was listening to it, I worked on this:

*~Magical Girl Bella Canto~*
"They say that when you see her, you hear the most beautiful song you've ever heard in your entire life. And then you realize you're dead!"

My prediction is that there is a group of anti-paladins who hate the Great Gold Wyrm, a sort of dark reflection of the Golden Order. And they are also interested in Scarlett.

PS: Planning on doing a magical girl drawing for Scarlett too!

My thought is that maybe, as an alternative to shorter combat, you could plan out different kinds of challenges and just have less combat per session? Some of my personal favorite parts have been stuff like the elf queen diplomacy session, or the hellhole casino heist, where you get cool social challenges and worldbuilding all in one. So I vote for more of that type of stuff.

I guess further positives for the Lich King, since we're looking for them, are that he managed to create and maintain a vast, sustainable empire. He was actually the one who created all the stuff in the lands that the Dragon Emperor has been claiming since his defeat. As I understand it, the 13th Age Empire hasn't really made anything new of itself, it's basically been trying to hold together the leftovers of the Witch King's kingdom. (Don't tell Margaret. :ssh:) Unless I'm reading way too much into the setting and that doesn't actually apply in this game.

Gregorian chants turned out to be a little too boring and I’m not nearly hardcore enough to do the full-on heavy metal chant as described in the session. I seem to remember someone joking that the chant was mainly just the repeated word “druid” over and over; I took that as my starting point. Here are two versions: Chant of the High Druid, and the alternate version.

You get a 3 point positive relationship with the high druid for these. I especially like the alternate version, it makes me think of a music box she had carved out of a branch of a sacred tree or something.

I really hope that you guys keep doing sessions with Claude and Co. The party dynamics are just hilarious. I also hope that you guys run another session of Fiasco that includes people who didn't get to participate in this first round. I love listening to Fiasco games. On that subject, the fact that ikks is just trying to be the best father he can and all these "supervillians" want to gently caress with him because of it is pretty great.

Things that I thought of while you were talking about what specifically makes Fiasco a good GM-less system:

The strong character relationships are really important to how it plays out, but I also think that Fiasco does a really good job of setting up expectations that make playing the game the reward, not winning or losing. Before you ever begin to play the game, it's pretty much expected that things are going to turn out more or less horribly for all involved, so trying to "win" the game by orchestrating a good outcome for your character isn't really on the table. And the fact that scenes are resolved by the consensus of everyone at the table adds a really fun element to roleplaying out the scenes, while also giving extra incentive for the other people who are not in the scene to pay close attention. (Unless you choose to resolve the scene I guess, but screw that.)

My first thought for favorite moment was in the Hellhole when Mint's eyes started glowing and he spewed blood everywhere. I think that was the first of his HOLY poo poo sorcerer power moments. Then I saw the new intro, and the whole scene with coming up with the party's outlaw names came flooding back to me. That is the peak story roleplaying moment for me. Especially Manuel's reaction to Shuckles. But there have been so many killer moments, it's really hard to choose.

Edit:
