I had pubbies today who totally ignored the VIPs on a capture mission in favour of farming the trash mobs we were supposed to be hunting down. Why yes, let's focus on the lancers in the previous room and not the VIP that just booked it and is halfway to his escape shuttle by now. Also, on that same mission, both VIPs escaped, and for whatever reason there was no more objective markers, not even a "get to the choppa" escape marker. It was basically our group in a level with infinitely-respawning enemies and no objective. Does that happen often? For reference, it happened seconds before they announced the hotfix for this evening.

Can someone explain the level ranges on each mission node and how they relate to your account/character? Is it the level range of mobs on that mission? Is it the recommended Mastery level for that content? Is it the recommended level of your Warframe/weapons/whatever? It's kind of confusing.

How long do you want to dick around in each area before moving onto the next? I've finished Mercury and have the first Venus mission unlocked, but got completely wrecked when I tried it. My Excalibur's currently Rank 9, and my weapons range from ranks 5-8.

I've been playing with pubbies, which has been hit or miss, but pretty okay for the most part. I've already got my Braton, so I guess I have to transmute to get the mods since they drop off higher-level stuff? Or trading's an option, I guess.

Grab a carrier and potatoes for your Braton and Warframe and you should be pretty solid for the early game. Make sure to upgrade your Carrier's Vacuum mod ASAP, the range on it is pitifully low. You'll have to use Fusion Cores for it, unless someone knows how to get Vacuum mods at low levels. QuantaStarFire fucked around with this message at 11:16 on Nov 30, 2013 |

Having gone through the new user process recently, it was really bland and obtuse. I think they should spend Mercury and Venus just going over everything--all the mission types, crafting, mods, using the market, all that stuff. By the end of it, you should have played every mission type, replaced your starter weapons, have potatoes in your primary and frame, have a few mods to work with, be Mastery Rank 2, and be in the process of crafting another frame (just let you choose between whichever starter frames you didn't pick). Maybe you could also have encountered the Stalker: just have a special solo mission in Venus where he shows up to avenge Vor and you have to fend him off, and he drops the Cronus or something to replace your melee weapon.

When Stalker shows up, he'll basically chain Slash Dash on his mark until they die, which is remarkably fast. You'll know someone's got the Stalker coming because the screen will flicker black for everyone who isn't the mark.
