The only caveat is that they can't be skeezy, hence the challenge. Not an easy challenge, but a doable one at least.

Lord Frisk posted:I never understood why nobody ever asks both doors the same question with a known answer. "Does 1+1 equal 2?" Fuckin bam, now you know which door lies. Traditionally you're only allowed to ask one question, so now you know which door lies but not "which is the right way to go". The real answer, incidentally, is that they're always both hooked up to an orb of annihilation and you need to find a third door. Thanks, Gary.

The Crotch posted:Okay but why do they each have their own chess board? Because ludus is a 5th dimensional hyperchess variant and not actual chess, in part because the realities of war in a setting where 'flying dudes' is a real possibility calls for a non-standard set of pieces and board. There was also something about logistics/pieces supporting each other, maybe? It's been a while since I read the books. E: That's not them each having their own board, that's a raised board above the main one.

Given the budget and time constraints RPG publishers have to work with, point 3 is the one that usually gets waived for the sake of expediency. From talking with Mikan, I've heard the secret is to use artists who don't specialize in RPGs because those are the people who end up with all of the above. Career RPG artists are how you end up with this:
