I'm surprised Cable is not just saying the most obvious reason for the difficulty in pricing the Royal Mail, namely the uncertainty over how costly industrial action would be to resolve. It's not like blaming the union would actually cost the Conservatives any votes, and in this case it's not actually a bullshit answer.

it would seem utterly disconnected, in the current political climate, to go on TV and say IMMIGRATION IS GOOD.
