For all that people complain about Heero being a silent deadpan guy, nobody ever seems to remember his crackpot speech about colony independence that he delivered as his words of introduction to his private school class, while his teacher awkwardly tried to get him to sit down and stop talking.

The most important part of this vital piece of character development is how he casually caps it off by introducing himself as Duo Maxwell as everyone stares at this dumb, crazy liber-spacetarian.

I didn't really like Crowe that much either. Originals just seem to be getting more and more "Yep that's an original allright, where's my interesting units" with each installment.

Heero doesn't need it that much as he's always sniping and moving with Hit & Away but Setsuna's all about going :flashfact: and getting into the enemy's face.

Didn't Heero know Accel in Z2, though?

I watched Z3 melt down entirely to Heero and Aoi in the same squad for a large chunk of the game. Aoi would open the stage by casting Spirit+ until she ran dry, then would chug a bunch of SP consumables and repeat the process until the pair were sitting on 150 morale, with the last of her SP used for accelerate. From there, it's just a case of Heero prancing around MAPing everything into piles of slag and continually giving yourself more actions with tag points or whatever. Late game, you can toss Aoi for someone else (like Setsuna) as Heero will have drive to amp himself up with. Toss in B-save and Quattre for resupply and a lot of maps are getting finished on turn 1.

I guess Kallen is about equally as bunk if not moreso, but jesus, I've never seen a SRW title cleared so fast.

I figured they'd just fudge that stuff like they usually did. Anyway, all I know about Muvluv is that it's dark dark dark dark on dark, and ridiculous erogame pilot suits.

the cool parts of the series (imo) are the alternate history setting and the slow buildup of horror that goes on before any aliens are actually onscreen, the actual giant robots themselves are kinda okay i guess. the tonal whiplash is kinda goofy looking back on it too, even if it worked in the moment. bringing it into an SRW game wouldn't be impossible at all, surely they've folded Dark And Awful settings into the games before and had it work okay, i just can't think of any off the top of my head.

also bring back bonkers pilot/unit switching so i can put ayamine kei in the gunbuster

I think the biggest problem adding Muv-Luv into SRW is the fact that there's not a good way to make the beta as threatening . I've not read the VNs and it really isn't my thing due to the dumbass pilot suits and the stuff you have to to just to get to alternative. I was under the assumption though that the BETA were threatening because they showed up in the thousands. I don't think that works in SRW. I know they also have the laser ones but as someone else said, Im sure getter just shrugs that poo poo off.

to be fair source power levels basically mean very little in SRW and thank god for that otherwise chirico would be peeling potatoes in the archangel while all of the robots/pilots with Gods and poo poo inside of them take care of things

Aura Battlers have force fields on the surface world, and regular Aura Shot weapons are basically nuke-strength. I wasn't speaking lightly when I said that if Dunbine could be retrofitted to work in SRW, anything theoretically can.
