Lysander motions to Naff to stay in the corridor and to continue covering the left hallway with his Autocannon, then moves into the map room. After pausing for a moment to take in the corpses, he says, "You do good work, Corypheus. For a Tzeentchi." He then turns to the map and tries to apply his knowledge of Imperial tactics to it, hoping to see any places that would be ideal for the Imperials to attack them. Unfortunately, his cursory knowledge of the Imperium is insufficient to even hazard a guess.

Looking for places where the Imperium will try to attack us and trying to predict how they'll try to stop us.

After ordering Naff into a position in the Damage Control room where he is least likely to go flying into space in case of decompression, he turns and looks sadly at the ruined phone.

"I do wish I'd realized that line was still open BEFORE someone tore it off the wall; the fun we could have had with a few choice words... Well, it hardly matters. One way or the other, we're going to kill them all."

Lysander turns back to the map and begins to study it as quickly as he can, hoping to spot something like a medbay along their route; he wouldn't pass up a chance to gather chemical supplies for future poison-making, or at the least an opportunity to bring Nurgle's love to the wounded.

Lysander falls into position with the Plague Marine, beckoning the others onward. "Let us not dawdle any longer, warriors of Chaos; Nurgle may be eternally patient, but Abaddon is not, and we have a job to do."

"One Khornate charging off on her own will hardly distract them for long, Daemon Axe or not. The Ogryn and I will head after her and add to the distraction; hopefully we can draw their forces in the wrong direction, assuming she isn't charging in the right direction by accident. If you require backup, I will try to steer her rampage in your direction."

Lysander then runs off after Khûlan.

Lysander raises his weapon, then lowers it, disappointed, as the turret he was aiming at disintegrates under a hail of multilas fire. Noticing something off with the weapon, he inserts a finger into a component and draws it out caked with greenish mucus.

"Ugh, the nurglings filled the main cooling port with filth. I should really stop letting them play on my equipment; firing this would have been catastrophic."

After cleaning the weapon out, he watches Kayleen patch up Kothurchu and makes a mental note to try to secure a human-scale narthecium for himself. It certainly makes things easier.

"Perhaps I should advance at the front of the party and Naff can bring up the rear; we're the ones best suited to absorbing anything from future ambushes after all."

We lack the hour of study time I would need to perform proper voice mimicry, but I might be able to imitate the basics of the local accent in less time, and I think I could blame interference or damage to the line should they notice anything off with my voice."

Lysander glances back the way they came from.

"Alternatively, if we want to do something extraordinarily risky, I could take a lascutter and meltabomb back out through the hole the boarding torpedo blew into the station. I have nothing to fear from the void, and my magnetised heels could let me attempt an assault on the bridge from the outside while the rest of you attack from the inside. Personally, though, I'm in favor of Plan Phone."

"I like this plan. For those of us storming the bridge, we need to keep the highest level officer possible alive. The Admiral himself would be best, but I'd take a First Mate or Captain or whatever the hell the rank below Admiral is. He can be interrogated for codes, and I can attempt to mimic his voice with an hour or so of study. Even if we don't have that time, I can still make a crack at it."

(Is Serpent's Tongue a supernatural ability that I can basically turn on at any time, or do I need to already be speaking to somebody to get its benefits? That +20 Fel from Peer (2) could make a big difference since Nurglites can't spend IP on rerolls)

Lysander reaches up and pulls a chunk of still-glowing shrapnel from his neck, utterly stunned (and slightly amused) at the utter chaos of the last few moments. It was how Naff would've wanted to go, of course, but Naff was all that was left of the Warp Maggots warband. Lysander knew better than to think that anything could escape the touch of death, but this was still a blow. He scarcely even noticed the smell of smoldering flesh as he simply stood in place, pondering what this meant for the future.

Welp. RPing this as shock about Naff because seriously, the fire has a 1/10 chance to actually wound me and it'll take like 9 rounds to knock me out, I doubt I even feel it.

Patting distractedly at the flames gnawing at the bulges of exposed flesh poking through his armor, Lysander turns to watch the Black Legionnaire tear apart the Marine. "Amirault, when you're done with it, I'd like that chunk of Naff's femur I see in your side. It will be a lovely memento, and perhaps I can bribe a plague sorcerer into following me around if I give it to him as a psy-focus or something. Or I could make it a necklace, if that fails."

Lysander bends down to one of the Space Marine corpses and severs his head cleanly with his power sword. As he reaches up and impales it neck-first onto his trophy rack, he glances around the bridge, his gaze settling on the direction the Admiral ran.

"I don't think the gunners will open fire without encouragement. Anyone who doesn't want to stick around and play with the bodies, follow me and we'll have fun torturing Admiral Whats-His-Name.

EDIT: Yeah, I'll follow that guy.

Lysander breaks out the medkit and sterile gloves, since he's found that non-Nurglites seem to have a problem with their doctor infecting them with horrid diseases for some reason.

Barely containing his laughter at the Champion's ignoble death, Lysander advances on Bonecrusher's corpse, eyes lighting up with greed when he sees the Infernal Star. Of course, he couldn't be sure how the Chosen were going to react to their leader being murdered, so he elected to keep an eye on them and wait for things to unfold before he began trying to remove the force field.

Spending 250 XP on Weapon Training (Power) and banking the remaining 300. I dunno if we're going to kill the other guys or if they're working for Waci now that he shanked their boss or what, once I know what's happening I'll actually act.

As Dulsatae removes the Terminator armor, Lysander delicately detaches the Infernal Star and places it atop his trophy rack, just above the Imperial Fist's impaled head.

"Truly, Dulsatae, Nurgle is all-beneficient, to give us such potent guardians of life from this one's death. Between your new armor and my new shield, I truly pity our foes."

Grinning widely, he turned and boarded the Stormraven, trying not stare at the rapidly mutating sorcerer. That wouldn't be polite.

Lysander leans his head to one side, consulting in low murmurs with a Nurgling perched on his shoulder. He can't understand a word of its babbling nonsense and he doubts it understands him, but after so long on a throne he found it difficult to plan without bouncing ideas off an advisor. It was hardly the dumbest or most sycophantic one he'd ever had. Finally, he nods in agreement to the last burst of garbled Nurgling nonsense and says, "Yes, let us clear a landing zone. The capital will doubtless be vulnerable to plague, and a Citadel will be no use to them if we control the rest of the world."

"Clawman, if you can, layer a message from me into your little horrorshow, as many channels as possible. We can break their morale in more ways than one.

Leaning in close to the vox, Lysander begins to speak.

"Children of Nurgle. Brothers in Chaos. The time for hiding within the enemy's forces and homes has ended. The time has come at last; like malarial parasites, burst forth and destroy. As promised, we have come for this broken Imperium and its False Emperor. Take up arms and slaughter your so-called "fellow soldiery." Cut your commanding officer's throats in the night. When we arrive at their pathetic fortifications, throw open the gates. When we find you standing among the dead and dying, you need only offer up praise to Chaos and we will know you; your reward is forthcoming. For Nurgle! For Chaos! Let the galaxy burn!"

Stepping back, Lysander smiles thinly. He'd just follow the others once they hit the ground.

Lysander advances with Dulsatae, his new "bodyguard" just behind him. He suspected that Iocanthos wasn't particularly happy about working for a human, but between Lysander's Mark of Nurgle and the fact that they'd murdered Bonecrusher pretty drat hard, he was sure the Black Legionnaire knew better than to voice his thoughts on the matter. After all, it was the same job; walk towards the killing, shoot at the other guys.

"When we kill everyone in there, try not to break any of their radios.I'll be able to sow so much more chaos if we can get into any encrypted channels. It would be even more ideal to recover the commander himself, at least for long enough for me to mimic his voice in particular."

Unlike the Plague Marine, Lysander was in his element while surrounded by lackeys. He thundered a sermon of praise to Nurgle as they stormed the base, encouraging the new converts to leave the wounded to fester and to rejoice at their newly-gained knowledge of the True God. It cheered his heart to see how eagerly they served their new master; already some of them were bloating and walking with wounds that would have killed the uninitiated.

Once their work was done, Lysander set about his typical post-battle rituals. After his prayers to Nurgle, he began to pry the more obtrusive pieces of shrapnel from his body with the help of the Nurglings. A few minutes later, as he snapped off a last piece of rebar that jutted through his shoulder, he felt some tiny fraction of Nurgle's attention sweep towards him for a moment. Immediately, he felt a shifting beginning deep within his body, and knew that another Gift would soon manifest itself; the only question was whether it would be a true Gift of the Plague Lord or a mere alteration of Chaos.

He spends the remaining time until Abaddon's arrival preaching to the new converts and making vox-broadcasts on Cadian channels about the victory of Chaos, the glory of Nurgle, and the deeds of himself and the others. At Abaddon's arrival and congratulations, he bows deeply and follows.

Picking up Int +5 and True Grit for 650 XP.

I've passed CP 40 so that's a new mutation; I'll roll the Infamy test TN 72 for a Gift of Nurgle, and I'll leave the rolling up to you Mandozer.

I'd also like to try to elevate my Plasma Gun to a Legacy Weapon, Infamy test TN 32 (72 Base - 20 Very Rare - 10 Maximal Penalty - 10 Good Quality).

He'd hardly heard Abaddon over the bubbling and cracking in his head, which was only now beginning to subside. Reaching up, he runs his fingertips over swollen, rotted flesh and a permanent grin of jagged needle teeth. A glorious reward, unlike this mission. Nurgle himself had seen fit to bless him with the Mark and a countenance like his own, and yet the Warmaster wasted his talents on these pylons when there was a war to fight? Either he wasn't telling them something or he was an idiot, and Lysander didn't think he'd have made it this far by being stupid.

Turning to the new arrivals, he chuckles expectantly. More meat for the grinder. "Greetings to you, Major. Don't let the pessimism of my companions diminish your enthusiasm. I have seen enough xenos artifacts in my time to know that there are always guardians to slaughter and things to blow up. If you will all excuse me, I think I shall question the Warmaster's sorcerers before we depart."

Asking the sorcerers in the HQ for more information about the pylons and how to make them go away. Inquiry 55, Charm 84 (74 without Ancient Warrior).
