Felt the urge to replay Ocarina of Time, and realized I'd never gotten 100% done so I'm working on that, and holy God is the fishing ever terrible. I have no idea how I did this as a child, though apparently the 3ds one is harder for some reason. I have to wait for a fish to be where I can catch it, then I spend about 10 minutes casting and trying to entice it, then when it finally does bite I fight it for another 5-10 until it inevitably breaks the line and gets away. Rinse, repeat. It's awful in every possible way.

I think the big difference with RE3, for better or worse, is that it's a lot more action oriented, but it doesn't really commit to that all the way, so you get basically a survival horror but with way too many bullet sponge enemies.

I'm still missing an achievement that never popped for one of the perks and several came in days late, I'm not convinced they had play testers checking any of these things

The only good collectibles are ones that are easily trackable. Either with map upgrades a la Ubisoft games, or are specific things so you can look them up and see what you’re missing. Nothing takes the wind out of my sails like have 99/100 of something and zero indication of what I’m missing

They did that MotU/DC crossover a few years back, it's honestly not absurd to think him or He-Man could show up in a future MK/Injustice game. But seriously if you look at the guest lists from MK9 and on nothing is off the table

For example, I'm playing Assassin's Creed Origins' Curse of the Pharaohs DLC at the moment and despite paying attention I'm still not exactly sure what's going on and why I'm doing stuff. I guess I'll just go to the quest marker and stab whoever's there. I just started the main game and felt like I missed a cutscene, but apparently it just jumps ahead like that. I mean I get it and I don't really need to spend 20 minutes watching Templars kill my family again, but a little synopsis would help (although I assume there will be a big cut scene later explaining exactly what's happening)

Assassin's Creed origins having an automatic "camel just go where I tell you" button is terrific, it's the one thing RDR2 needs to fix it, but why in earth does it default to "follow road" and I have to hit another button after for "go to objective". When would I ever just want to follow the road aimlessly?

I had fun skipping cutscenes and building little socialist communities on the ruins of DC, but that whole end bit was like "You have unlocked GRINDING" . Even though I like a lot of ARPGs and loot games, that kind of endgame has never appealed to me. Shadow of War was nuts for that. Finishing the game gets you an insanely long series of very hard fort defense events, and your reward for eventually slogging your way through them is a 3 minute cutscene wrapping up the ending. Absolutely bizarre choice

Just finished with Rime, and while it's a great game I really hate the ending. Even though in this particular case it was well handled, I just hate how we can't just have nice games, there's always got to be some horrible backstory. Same problem I had with Among the Sleep. I don't have a problem with tragedy in games, persay, but most of the time it just feels like "gently caress you dad, games ARE art!" and sadness for the sake of sadness.

Hi, I'm Superliminal and I have an achievement for beating the game in a really short time and also I have several sections where you have to just sit there and wait for the game to progress, as if speed running a puzzle game wasn't fun enough already. Also I don't have any kind of timer, even once you complete the game, so good luck figuring out how close you even were or if it's worth continuing your current playthrough.

But now it's 2020 and people get angry about exclusives? But somehow it's always different when you ask "But why can't i play pokemon on my playstation?" That example IS different though. If I buy Avengers for Xbox and PS4 I pay the same price for each system, but arbitrarily have less content on the Xbox version. That's pretty hosed up and very different that a game that isn't on the system at all. It's also different than what Soul Calibur does because each system had a different guest; if the Xbox version of Avengers had Black Panther or something and the PS4 didn't that's a different matter entirely, right now they're just making a complete game that includes Spider-Man, and then removing him for other systems while charging the same price. It's be like if a move came out but there's 15 minutes cut out of act 2 in every theatre except AMC.

Bayonetta 2 absolutely didn't get the rage and think pieces Spiderman being exclusive has though drat near every person in the world knows who Spider-Man is, Bayoentta has a solid cult following but the first game sold 1.35 million copies, it’s not really an odd thing that people are more vocal about this. Also, again, an entire game being made for one system and not entire is super different than a game have less content on another system.

I gave up on Alien Isolation last year because I was playing on the highest difficulty for the achievement and it was just not at all fun. Decided to give it another go on Medium and just not care about achievements at all, and it's still just not that fun. I WANT to like it and it's a cool concept, but it's mostly just a dreary slog where either the xenomorph is down the hall and I get to crawl tediously around, or he sniffs me out from across the map and pounce even if I'm in a locker nowhere near it. The lack of an autosave is the most glaring thing, even just adding that would make it less frustrating. As is you have to use the save points, and you can't have multiple saves so if you gently caress up and the xeno happens to be behind you (tbf it does warn you if enemies are nearby) then you get to restart the whole chapter.

Finally getting around to Sekiro. I wish it would stop popping me out of stealth when I jump. Maybe as a ninja I'd like to be both stealthy and agile, you know? Also the Dragonrot mechanic seems incredibly stupid for this kind of game.
