Add me on SNES Live
I wanna play a good obscure SNES or N64 game with cool art direction and fun gameplay. Recommendations?

(GBA is acceptable too I guess)

the robot fight's kinda wonky. i didn't have a controller pak at the time so i could never save the game.

it's wacky but a lot of fun. the follow up n64 side scroller was also pretty great. i would recommend them, and actually liked them both better than the snes game.

but yeah mischief makers is the correct answer for 'good obscure game with cool art direction and fun gameplay' so play that first if you can 1) find it or 2) successfully emulate it

I remember it being weird and I had no idea what was going on and I couldn't save it because I didn't have a controller pack but there's a giant robot or some poo poo. The recommendations for Mischief Makers are on the money that game was rad even though I could never get all the gold gems and see the full ending. I watched it on YouTube recently and it is loving anime as gently caress.

each level had its own gimmick. sometimes it was just a race to the end, other times it was a scavenger hunt across a large level, one time you had to navigate a snowstorm, another you had to participate in the cat olympics, my favorite levels were these giant war battlefields with giant ball mechas and you could grab a scared machine gunner to have him wildly spray bullets everywhere. the main character even got set aside for a couple levels so you could play as a little kid who punched the poo poo out of everything in his way.

still have my save with all the gold gems. that ending was the poo poo.

I got stuck there too, but then I beat him. That was an awesome fight, but I never finished the game cause my roommate moved out and took his N64.

I played Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon and it was a pretty cool game, if you had a memory pak so you can save. The game was weird as hell and reveled in it.

Every single castle song is amazing and pretty much every level theme is too. The only real flaw is that the music changes at night in non castle stages.
