Who’s worth following on Twitter for hip hop? Left the scene around the time Thugga released Barter 6 but starting to get back into things. Would appreciate a quick best of since 2014/5 too; had a quick scan thru’ the thread since mid 2017 but prior to that is a blank spot. Anyone fun coming to Aus soon?

Help my relatively noob rear end hear trash pop rap, so to speak. My hip hop exposure is spotty at best and I'm really lacking experience in very recent rap trends. The kind of stuff that makes old school fans and "serious" rap fans pop a vein due out of angry superiority. Stuff I hear during drunken adventures that almost makes me decide to finally replace all my blood with cheap party liquor. Glamour-thug image type poo poo. Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, Fetty Wap, etc. What are some good primers and essentials?

People just need to make peace with getting older. I realized recently that the soundcloud type poo poo is where I tap out. I still like rap, I'm just not always going to like what 22 year olds like. I'm 36 years old, so that's probably how it's supposed to be. When we were kids, 36 year olds probably thought what we listened to sucked poo poo.

Hip hop moves so fast it's crazy. I teach a music course during the summer for teenagers and the two dudes into hip hop were really into Yachty and Uzi Vert and I guarantee you when I go back this year there'll be people who love Lil Pump and whatever poo poo is on soundcloud. Like I think it's great that the music keeps getting newer and more disposable. It keeps things fresh and even though 99% of it is trash, you get to hear new things and the great musicians like Kendrick, Danny Brown, Vince Staples etc won't just disappear because they're actually talented.
