Reynald had to cancel recently because of some personal matters. I don't know about Bala though.

Has KI been pretty successful as a fighting game amongst FG players?

There seem to be a fair amount of videos and it seems to be lasting longer than MK9 did, despite having so few characters right now.
MK9 had 120+ entrants at its first CEO appearance in 2011, whereas KI this year had only 49. This isn't an isolated case, either; KI has been consistently drawing low numbers at every major. MK9's time may be over now but it had a much stronger tournament scene than KI currently does.

So what is the issue with KI? Is it just not considered a good fighting game by the majority of the FGC or is it still getting hated on because it's XBone exclusive?
To be honest I don't think people hate KI because it's XB1 exclusive, but the exclusivity certainly limits the number of people who can access the game.

KI being ugly as sin probably doesn't help either.

In a nutshell: Triforce and Empire are a long-running cancer in the FGC.

As for FChamp's personal beef with Triforce, I'm not 100% sure but it might have something to do with VxG, an event that Triforce had a hand in promoting. Champ had to make a lot of noise to get the money owed to him by the organizers.

That kinda makes sense, since one of the big reasons I dislike Justin Wong is because of his boring as poo poo Storm, but even when Chris G played other lineups, people still gave him poo poo.
Justin's Storm is rad as hell though?

Your announcement hype today will be directly proportional to how much you like Tekken!
Man, Tekken Tag 2 finals aren't even on the schedule for today. I like Tekken and all, but announcing Tekken 7 between the finals of other games is probably not the best way to do it.

What's with all the hate towards this guy? His videos aren't that bad.
Actually, they are bad. He whines like a scrub constantly in his online match videos and his tutorial videos are like 20 minutes long with hardly any useful information.

Max's response to that video about KI's online lag was really stupid. The real issue is "there is lag and KI players don't realize it because of the way the game hides desyncs" but he addressed it as if players were simply saying "there is lag" and tried to excuse KI with some rant about experiencing lag in other fighting games, which is a pretty weak and dumb justification to make.

Mr Fahrenheit posted:

This is a big point, because the FGC as a whole will get hype over a bottle of maple syrup, so someone who is EXTRA hype can be a little grating.
A bottle of maple syrup could do a better job at teaching you MvC3 than Max's tutorials.

Why are they using ancient CRTs for the Smash matches?
Upscaling SD video to the native resolutions of modern HD displays introduces lag.
