I was in your position one time. Tiny company, 60 - 80 hour weeks, enormous responsibilities, company going downhill.

When the company finally went under I felt a enormous weight lift off of my shoulders. I got a new job within 3 months and now I refuse to work a minute over 40 hours a week. It pains me to see other goons working overtime for free. If you aren't being compensated for your overtime the. DONT WORK OVERTIME.

I don't want a promotion right now. I think i'm 1-2 years away from being a 2nd line tech
But I want to talk with my senior to see what I need to possess to be promoted to a 2nd line tech position. The reason I wanna ask is that awhile back, my senior told me that my knowledge at certain areas way exceed what the 2nd line techs here all know. And that I currently am better than a certain 2nd line tech will ever be.

So yeah. I kinda wanna know what he needs to see. before he is fully convinced i should move to a 2nd line position.

I've still yet to pass 70-410. Time to get off my rear end and just do it. I will ask for this promotion the moment I pass 70-412

I'm learning so much from him. I have this weird thing where I try my best to impress him. It sucks that he has high standards. He's always been brutally honest with me regarding my employment here.
When management had their zero-tolerance policy against extern workers. He let me know that I would most likely get kicked out. He managed to have me stay here and is working to get me signed on permanently.
He agreed to let me use him as a reference for my next job if I was let go.
Could it be that he is wary of me? a fresh graduate.
I graduated from vocational college in july this year. I was an intern from january until june and after graduating, I got hired as an extern worker.

Sounds to me like he is covering for the company, and the company is the one loving you over.
If you leave because of this, and he is the good guy like you say he is, then he should understand and give you a good reference anyways.

My old boss can't find anybody willing to work as hard as I did. He's over being mad that I left and is moving on to asking me to come back. I gave him my compensation requirements (current + benefits) and he seemed to balk a little bit, but I'm sticking to it since he's made it abundantly clear I'm valuable to him. We'll see what numbers come back from the CEO (since he will also balk at it, nobody under the president is making that much, it's still a relatively small MSP).

I like the idea of having way too much work to do as my current bank job is boring as gently caress. I don't like the idea of being under-compensated for my time. I know numbers aren't everything but I really like paying all my bills on time and not stressing month to month.

Salary workers in a non-management roll get no overtime, even at 60+ hours a week.
No mandatory minimum allotment of maternity leave at all for mothers. We are the only first world country ON EARTH to not have this.
No mandatory minimum allotment of vacation days.
No mandatory minimum allotment of sick days either, and you can be fired for being sick.
