So after reading about this a few years back, I've been super interested in how it works and its effects. You know it's one thing to hear about an experience and another to really experience it.

Been researching this for quite some time, drafted some ideas in illustrator and it seems relatively easy to make but I was wondering how YOU would go about making one? Im planning on shopbotting a square base out of wood that would house the turntable motor (perhaps house a drawer or something...) and cut the light slots out of PVC or aluminum. Line the bottom panel with LED's and a mirror on the top portion of the cylinder...

I've seen some sleek designs but I was genuinely interested to hear what you folks could come up with.

I did some cursory Googlin' and this sounds pretty interesting. I don't have much in the way of input beyond that, yet. I might want to make one of these myself, sounds like fun.

If you're just going for stroboscopic lights and you're planning on using LEDs to light it, why not just blink the LEDs?
