Yes I've never once encountered a shiny pokemon in the wild. All the shinies I own are from events only. How can I get a real shiny?

In x/y use octillery (or another poke with an ability that increases your chance of successfully fishing) as your lead poke and fish in a spot surrounded on three sides by rocks. Every consecutive poke has a slightly increased chance of being shiny. Its like chaining the pokeradar only easier. This is how I got my shiny staryu. Hth and if you miss your button press and it gets away this resets your chain. Good luck

action replay either causes the system to hardlock where a message will tell you to turn it off or the game enhancer will damage the system to beyond repair. don't stick poo poo in the 3ds slot that is not a real 3ds game. Bootlegs will cause the same issues.

The first Duskull I encountered ever was a shiny, and I caught it. I did not know what a shiny was, and I didn't even realize he was differently -colored until almost a year later when I played against a friend's Duskull. Anyway Pokéradar is rad and solves this problem. I think X/Y increased Shiny rate and the chain multiplier or something, cause chaining for shines is crazy easy in it.
