http://www.somethingawful.com/news/tom-waits-characters/ I have no idea who the heck Tom Waits is! There's a black and white photo in the article, is he from the olde tymey times? The excerpts seem funny if you know his music, but is like, Tom Waits a like, known dude or something? I just don't get it, would appreciate more modern and relevant music people like Alanis Morisette or something. Just some front page feedback for ya, lovin and site and the articles Lowtax and Zack Parsons, keep up the good work!

One of my personal favorites is Filipino Box Spring Hog: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuRfJDYl6Ts Here's what he had to say about its origins: "In my old neighbourhood we used to have rent parties- if you couldn't make the rent. So they'd have a big festival out in the alley and cook a pig and invite a lot of people and charge them money of course - but most people brought something too. So they'd dig a big pit and then cook a big pig and there's like 200 people there and they're out in the alley. But I was staying in this place where I had a mean landlord and everybody hated the landlord and we were gonna have the - wasn't any point in having the rent party cause you'd already been evicted and so somebody got the idea that we' d have this big barbecue - we'd have it in the house. So they sawed all the floorboards out of the living room and dug a hole in the living room and put the box springs of a mattress down there and underneath the box springs there was a lot of madrone and eucalyptus and then we put the pig on top of the box springs and we had this big barbecue. It was memorable, everybody'd still talking about it - so anyway, this is about that..."  Actually pretty much everything on Mule Variations is fantastic.

Glee was going to do an episode featuring Tom Wait's music but plans fell through when filming. In order to get the rights to the music the show had to meet two conditions set by Tom Waits: 1. Everyone must speak all their dialog through megaphones 2. Any combination of two of the following must be in each shot: A Cantonese dwarf that Tom met in Shanghai, A Georgian dwarf on a pair of stilts that he met at Burning Man, an Emu, Tom Waits himself. Everything fell apart during shooting, Neither dwarf spoke English, The Cantonese one would try to expose himself every time he was put on camera and the Georgian would try to stick peyote leaves in everyone's mouths off camera and also punched Grant Gustin in the dick. Also the Emu was in heat and tried to have sex with the boom mic multiple times during filming. Eventually the producers got fed up and canceled the episode on the spot and a quickly written episode involving puppets replaced the episode.
