If you're going for Lv8+ weaponry you're going to end up grinding the hell out of Retributions anyway.

So does anything actually happen when you work off your entire sentence? I remember Gladiator Begins had a similar debt system.

So I should be fine with a Rarity 7 Growth 1 late-bloomer etc. etc. weapon, right? There's no pressing need to try for R8?

Good. I was all "I'll just get four or five R8G1s, how hard could it be!?" before, but now I think I'd never want to touch this game again if I did that.

Getting R8G1 is honestly the easy part, it took me a single afternoon to get four of them. Grinding out the EP necessary to affix the 7 specific mods you want, actually getting weapons with the mods you want to affix, and getting the rare retribution-only field items to go from LV7->10 are the actual drags.

How do you do Citizen rescue missions? I think I'm doing them wrong, because I keep failing high-difficulty ones. I was trying one Invasion mission alone and the trash mobs kept us all wiped (no Abductors). Should I use the Protect Citizens order for my team and Accessory and just escort them to the point?

Is there any way to change the order list for squadmates like you can for accessories? If I could just tell them all to destroy parts missions would go a lot faster.

Teammates with light melee weapons like Nina and Sergio will try to sever a lot, but this can get them killed a lot too.

I got that one with a level 4 Blaster, the EZ Katze Kralle you get for acing Operation 2-4, Attack/Attack Abductors/Last Legs augs, and level 4/5 teammates. I'm thinking some kind of artillery on your Accessory would also help, especially a Nambu or Dragonfire. To start, I used the Katze and focused on the statue thing just behind the giant orb; that's the Peltatum's "headshot" area. Whenever it starts making GBS threads out Chains, sprint for the little entrance alcove to the south and stay as close to the south wall as possible. The Chains can shoot into there, but they can't enter it. Eventually you will wind up staring at a pile of Chains as they struggle to charge into the alcove, and you can cripple or kill them all at once with the Blaster. I heard Flamethrowers were also good for killing the chains in the alcove. But yeah..almost got it legitimately but gently caress that, the fight's too awful for that poo poo.

That fight becomes easy mode w/ a good Barbara's, just take out the chain compartments in the order the chains come out in, killing the chains as they come out after you destroy the compartment, and then never worry about them again.

Is there a way to make Abductors drop lower-body parts? Hitting their legs doesn't seem to do much.
|
# ? Nov 14, 2014 01:05 |

You gotta keep hittin' 'em. You see them change model a little bit, but otherwise you gotta keep doing it until you get a drop. On Ramosas it takes the majority of their health, something like Red Rage isn't nearly as bad.

# ? Nov 14, 2014 01:07 |

Yeah, the legs won't actually break off or anything like that. The shin guards will crackle and fray and catch fire.

Have you tried going solo? I often found that my AI partners would murder the Abductor before I could get the part I wanted out of it, so I just started fighting them solo. I believe there's even commands you can order that tell them to go fight something else.

It's how I got two of the three synthetic dampers: biped mk 3 I needed. Just did the showdown solo and beat on it's shins until they coughed up the items. It does get tedious trying to farm for RNG drops from breaks, though

neetengie posted:What was your loadout? L4 Barbara's Easy Blaster P, L7 EZ Katz (whatever the Will'O variant is), Attack: Peltatum, AttacK: Abductor, Contribution Booster, Contribution Booster + and a L7 EZ Wolf III on my accessory. Flash Grenade, First Aid Kit+, Auto-Resuscitator+ and Ammo Pack for items and Binding Thorn. Immediately level 2 thorn the boss and get the shields off, then if you look at it front on, kill off the lower right and lower middle boxes and the chains that come out, then switch the companions to Suppress Personnel and head over to the entrance. Keep your bot on Follow Me, revive them with the thorn as needed. Shoot the thorned area on the back of its head from over there and move back when Chains come near. Kill them off with the Easy Blaster, flashbang them if there's more than one and also pray they don't do the cold breath bullshit. Other than that it's kinda just luck with the Chains and friendly AI.
