Hmmm... Ansatsu Kyoushitsu, Yuri Kuma Arashi, Rolling Girls and Death Parade sound good. And with Parasyte, ShiroBako amd Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso from fall season I'm optimistic that I won't be bored.

Please tell me if the Maria anime is really good after the first episodes are over. I'm very skeptical.

I started the María manga exactly because the pedigree (Moyashimon author, which I liked) but after reading the first chapters I thought it was weak, not particularly worth of my time. let's hope Goro change it for better.

The coolest surprise for me is that Shirobako is apparently a 2-cour, I had no idea. Very excited for that and JoJo and Death Parade and Parasyte and Yuri Bear and the one about the sexy boats

I had no idea about that either, and also didn't consider that Parasyte is still going to be going. This season is going to own after all.

I Failed At Anime 2022
Hmmm this looks like a season I will spend catching up on backlog rather than watching a bunch of new shows. I'll be watching Kamisama Kiss S2 and continuing stuff from fall and that's about it at first glance.

Second glance: forgot about the Death Parade thing, I was interested in that one because the short was pretty cool. I'll eventually watch Durarara as well but probably not until it's all out.

I never got into Durara because the first episode felt like someone handing you a big pile of characters and details and going "HERE TAKE THIS" and you can't because it's too much and some of it spills out of your arms and nothing particularly interesting happens to make you feel like all this crap you're carrying is worth it. Is there a good "You have to at least watch until here" point for it?

Watch Baccano! instead. It's similar, except the reward for getting through the confusion is better. (It's also a shorter show overall.) Then if by that point you desperately want more Baccano!, watch Durarara!!

Is durarara as good as Baccano? Because baccano is loving cool, and if drrr is as good of a show I will try to catch up with it before the new season starts

DRRR takes a few episodes to take off (though so did Baccano) but it gets pretty drat good by the end of the first arc/book, and the one after that continues the trend. IMO definitely on par with Baccano. It's the third and final arc that is a little bit of a letdown, mostly in that it's anticlimactic and not the story you'd want to end your anime on. Overall it was a really cool show though and I can't really imagine disliking it if you liked Baccano.

The biggest problem with Durarara was that it was pretty clearly just the opening act of a longer story and ended on something of an anticlimax, with no hope of getting a second season. You've got a main character and a villain who are both built up as these patient, long-term thinkers and the show ends before you really get to see them act.

It's still a good show even with that, and now there's a second season coming.

I can. If you consider Baccano one of the best series you've ever seen, DRRR is not on the same level.

It's still a fine show, and the second season has a good chance of retroactively making the first season better. There are plenty of reasons to give the series the benefit of the doubt.
