These are hilariously bad odds, as it requires you to believe the Cubs have a more than twice average chance of winning the Series. They're pretty obviously deflated by 1) delusional Cubs fans and 2) recency bias/prospect hype.

e: Put another way, if I'm going to drop 5 figures on the 2015 Cubs, I better be winning life-altering levels of cash.

I suppose the Cubs could make the playoffs if everything broke right, including Kris Bryant just mashing the hell out of the ball like Ryan Braun did immediately after his call up. The dodgers will win the west, the nats the east, and barring catastrophic injury to two of Yadi/wacha/waino, the cards will win the central.

But that does still leave two playoff spots, and I'd give the Cubs a better shot right now than another long-shot like the Mets or Marlins. Though if the Mets got Tulo I'd change that tune really quick.

Still dumb as hell though, and you should probably see someone about your gambling problem and also see if you can sell that bet at a loss right now.

I think the Cubs are solidly in the mess of teams that are worse than the Pirates but better than the Phillies/Dbacks/Rockies/whoever in that group gets disappointing performances. So I'd take them if I could get odds better than 64:1 or so.

e: I'm still not used to going into a season thinking about the big group of teams worse than the Pirates.

Maybe i'm looking at the wrong projections but you're using the projections that have the mariners as the 2nd best team and the rockies as the 3rd best team?
