As for NMS, compared to elite dangerous, if you like E:D because of how deliberately obtuse and difficult it makes things because Serious Space Simulation, you might find NMS too casual. If OTOH you like bright colours and pretty scenery, mining minerals, building a house, chill vibes and weird creatures, and not needing a special auto docking module just to land on a space station without crashing, you might enjoy it.

I enjoy sitting at my computer for 20 minutes flying on auto pilot to an extremely distant dock only to realize that I accepted the mission with a smaller ship and my large size ship will not fit on the landing platform so I have to then fly back to where my smaller ship is parked and restart the whole process but then the mission expires
