Happy Masters week, guys! I've already cleared the schedule for tomorrow and Friday at work so I can do nothing but watch golf and luckily my boss fully approves.

God the live feed on Masters.com is choppy, what the hell am I paying for this 100mbps internets for! Edit: the Beauty of the par 3 course for a lot of these guys is they know how to play each hole for the best results at an ace which seems like a weird thing to say, but you can see it in tigers near miss there, if I were out there and had never played there before I would have thought him insane.

mdemone posted:I don't think you understand how television works. Whether he deserves the eyeballs or not, Tiger coming off the yips to play at Augusta is a huge ratings draw. They'll double their numbers from a Tiger-less Masters, and ESPN is just leeching on that popularity. I can't blame them for pumping gas onto the fire. Well, yes, most advertisers and TV people don't understand confirmation bias, I agree.

DoctaFun posted:I hope Tiger gets within one major of Jack and then fades into obscurity as he ages. Then, in 2029, he surfaces at the British Open a la Tom Watson and has a putt to win on the 18th hole. He misses to fall into a playoff. Then he loses the playoff to a bald man who never does anything else with his career. If Tiger gets to within one major of Jack, that means he'd be the all time PGA wins leader, which IMO is a much, much harder thing to do than to win 18 majors when you already have 17.

Just saw Rory hitting some drivers on the range. He's gonna wreck this poo poo. He's teeing off in 5 minutes but we won't get coverage of him on Masters.com until noon. Horseshit. Josh Lyman fucked around with this message at 15:37 on Apr 9, 2015 |

Oh see I'm watching Group 1 for two reasons: 1) Rose is playing some really good golf; and 2) The schadenfreude involved with watching the amateur champion at +11 so far is too delicious for my 16 handicap brain to not watch.

Speaking of amateur champions, what happened to that like 16 year old kid that tore it up as the low amateur a few years ago?
