Hey folks, I've been looking for some cooking programs, in the vein of Vice's Munchies How-To: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnPDn1Lb79JEPDLR-0H_q2hcLDKPXYGrL These vids feature interesting people cooking interesting things, and aren't your typical (read: boring) cooking shows. Been trying to find some more similar videos with not a lot of success. Anyone know of a similar series?

Mind of a Chef (on netflix) is a cool examination of one chef's career, while including some interesting recipes and occasional one-off stories/events in his life. One episode he goes out in Montreal for sandwiches with Aziz Anzari. Also, the show is narrated by Anthony Bourdain. He is not the chef, just the narrator

Most people know Gordon Ramsay as the guy who yells at people but he's also an incredible chef, one of the best in the world, as well. Here's an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5fg1AmhF4I

I know people throw "food porn" a bit carelessly, but goddamn everything he makes looks so good.

Honestly, the stuff at http://www.cookscountry.com/ (everything out of America's Test Kitchen really) are the most consistently great recipes I've seen. It's not really like...cooking TV though although they do have videos/etc. For those of you not familiar with ATK, they basically are the folks behind Cook's Illustrated and they run a kitchen that tries to systemically improve on and understand recipes and go into detail on the specifics why things work or don't - Cook's Country is the publication that's kind of more of the 'weeknight meals and easier stuff' compared to Cook's Illustrated's '40 improvements to this fifteen hour recipe you'll make once a year but will taste super fuckin' great'. Comedy answer: Cutthroat Kitchen is my new addiction.

I think his actual skills get lost on the shuffle of him being seen as "Angry Chef" but holy poo poo his Beef Wellington looks delicious. I want to go to Hells Kitchen and have one he personally made while he yells at the contestants Edit: Here's the recipe for his Christmas Wellington: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uXIPhxL5XA OldTennisCourt has a new favorite as of 23:29 on May 6, 2015 |

I've only watched three of the six episodes so far but it is pretty terrific.
