I fuckin knew Reed was gonna cause a wreck, he was all over the track since the restart. Also I just started watching during the last yellow, have I missed anything? (I assume no judging by the lack of posts)

Mike Joy is alright but I sure don't miss Waltrip in the booth. Ugh. I really wish Gordon was replacing DW instead of Larry.

There are 6 cars who don't have damage from those last two wrecks Go Benny Gordon! e: I was wrong, it was just 6 who had mostly dodged that last wreck and some of them had damage. There are a whole 9 cars on the lead lap. DEEP STATE PLOT fucked around with this message at 03:54 on Jul 5, 2015 |

Apparently Logano and Dillon did it all the way down the backstretch early in the going. It was pretty blatantly obvious that Logano was doing it towards the end of the race as well. I love rules that are very selectively enforced!

leica posted:Sure, but NASCAR isn't going to mandate new fences because of a slim to no possibility. Instead of new catch fences they should come up with a package in which cars can actually pass one another and where tire wear comes into play. The more cars are together in a pack like that, the more likely something really bad happens.

The best auto race I've ever seen was the 2013 IndyCar California race. It was a shitton more fun to watch than the pack race they had there this year because cars were getting huge runs by themselves and slingshotting past one another, and tire wear was a real thing that affected cars pretty significantly. I would absolutely love a NASCAR race at Daytona that was similar to that and would gladly take it over plate racing any day.

Peanut President posted:Also NASCAR will never do poo poo until someone gets killed, spectator or driver. Remember that it took someone on pit lane getting killed before they put on speed limits, and Earnhardt dying before they started giving a poo poo about driver safety. This is the thing that scares me. It'd be really nice for them to actually be proactive for once instead of wait for an inevitable really bad thing to happen before they do poo poo.
