Turn 3-1-3: It is Persia's turn. Obelisks do not grant anything special to a city, but they have the unique effect that they can never have their colour changed. You can't cultural influence it, you can't even take over the city to wipe it out - it'll remain yellow regardless of who owns that city. Only razing it via Barbarians can do anything to it. Sorry about the pause, I got a little busy. Turn 3-2-1: It is India's turn. India launches a cultural attack! 1d6: 5! India picks up a Culture token for the success. Since it's at max Culture, India picks up a Mood token for building a Temple. Culturally Influencing a piece just changes its color, meaning +1 VP for the owner and -1 VP for the city owner. The city is still under Rome's control, and still counts as size 3. Interestingly, a city does not appear to be able to Culturally Influence itself, as per the original rules... Turn 3-2-2: It is Babylonia's turn. Babylonia uses a Gold in place of a Wood to build an Academy, and picks up +2 Ideas. Babylonia immediately uses them to gain Chemistry, and gets a Event! Not a mistake per se, but it's worth my clarifying (since you have a lot of resources) that you can buy multiple troops at once if you want - same as gathering, you can buy up to [size+happy] units. I'm not sure I've explicitly said that before.

Either way, it's been long enough I'll auto-resolve your current actions as is. Persia reaches Culture 3 and draws an event: A Good Year posted:You gain 2 Food. Barbarians attack! The Barbarians in G3 are marching upon Susa! (Technically it's Christo's choice which city they pick, but this seems obvious!) Christo may normally play a Tactics card at this point, but it isn't really applicable to this situation. Defending Persians - 1 Army + 1 Elephant: 3 Attacking Barbarians - 1 Army + 1 Elephant: 4 3. 1 hit, but it bounces off Persia's Elephants! No change. Turn 3-2-4: It is Rome's turn. If I am not mistaken I can now make raise cities to size 3, right? And my biggest city, Mediolanum is size 2? -Activate Rome, harvest food, ore and wood -Grab that Great Engineer, thus developping Roads and building an Academy in Londinium -Play the LEAP OF KNOWLEDGE card, thus getting 3 more Ideas (does this count as an action? If it does the turn ends here) -Develop Free Education, thus gaining another Mood token.

paradoxGentleman posted:If I am not mistaken I can now make raise cities to size 3, right? And my biggest city, Mediolanum is size 2? You have three cities, so you can reach size 3. Mediolanum is size 3 - base circle, Academy, Port. Even if the port is in a different colour it still counts for you for matters of building/gathering. Since it's happy as well you'd get more mileage by activating it to gather rather than Rome. e: Also, remember that using a City with an Academy to gather gets you 1 Idea, because of Public Education. Turn 3-2-4: It is Rome's turn. Rome has raised a Great Engineer! Because of this, Rome picks up Roads, and earns Imperial Roads! Generally, Roads is used to allow units to move 2 spaces and/or ignore terrain when leaving or entering a city. Rome, on the other hand, can now move one group of units for free each turn, provided it's from city to city. Rome is designed to spread and quickly have its units in place. For reaching Culture 3, Rome draws an Event: Great Discoverer posted:Put this card on the table. The first player to pay 1 Culture may, as an action, both: a) Gain a free Maritime advance, b) Reveal any unrevealed region adjacent to a region where the player has a city. The player may then pay 2 Food to place a city on the region. Exhaust a space. Given the event I'm going to pause for confirmation. Rome has 1 action left and must exhaust a space. Alright, let's go for broke. Forget that last action, that great person changes things. -Play the Leadership card, which allows me to get an extra action this turn by spending 1 culture -activate Londinium, harvest 2 ore and 1 food -grab that Explorer and pay the two food to place a city.

Turn 3-2-4 continued: It is Rome's turn. Rome plays Leadership, paying 1 Culture! It straight-up allows another action this turn, no questions asked. Rome has raised a Great Discoverer! Rome gets a free Maritime advance and reveals an adjacent region. Technically, because of the way regions are laid out, either are valid targets - I'll assume you're going for the lower one, though. Action Queue - Rome: Choose free Maritime advance - Rome: Confirm tile orientation and city location. You can freely rotate the tile if desired. berenzen posted:1- Purchase Circus and Sports for 1 Mood While it doesn't really matter in this case, I should clarify: making a city happy doesn't actually require activating it (at least, not via the standard Civic Improvement action). You can make any number of mood increases in one Civic Improvement, so the game's not about to ask you to activate 1+ cities in a single action. e: For other players, it also normally costs as many Mood as the size of the city, except Circus and Sports is reducing that cost by 1.
