Maria withdrew last minute citing a leg injury, which fucks the draw. Her quarter contains Kuznetsova, Svitolina, Makarova, CSN, Jankovic, Bouchard (lol), and Ivanovic.

And there goes Ana.

There was a big opportunity for her with Sharapova out but Cibulkova is no mug.
My bracket is 1/1 so far. :getin:

Stan is a scumbag but she wasn't underaged.
I didn't think the new gf had anything to do with his divorce.

In any case, Donna Vekic is way hotter than his ex-wife.

Turn the gently caress on Nadal/Fognini. Just pushed a 5th after going 2 sets down.

Tune in to the end of Vika/Kerber. Top notch drama tennis.

Cilic is gonna repeat lol.

What on earth is with these on-court interviewers? "Go get a big plate of pasta!" Seriously? Maybe not quite as embarassing as the idiot from last night but not far off either.

Hoping Tsonga wins the next one.
Brad Gilbert seems compelled to be "entertaining". Not sure how much is him and how much is ESPN directive.

Yeah, with Vika and Kvitova out, I would bet the house on Serena winning no matter how lovely the odds.

The break point conversion thing is unreal. Was he always bad at that or is it a recent development in the past few years? 4/23 for gently caress's sake, that's woeful.
Fed has always had bad break conversion rates. It's a running gag.

Kilmers Elbow posted:

Federer is a fraud.

If you examine the scores of the top fighter aces in WW2 you'll notice they are invariably German and, more tellingly, they served on the Russian front in the early years of the conflict. Stalin's misguided trust in Hitler meant his armed forces were woefully unprepared to resist a well trained and battle-hardened army sweeping towards Moscow. In air fighting terms this meant that the veteran German pilots were able to rack up huge scores against under-trained Soviet pilots flying obsolescent aircraft.

If you look at Federer's career you'll see a similar trajectory.

Three and four set victories over legends such as Marat Safin, Marcos Baghdatis, Mark Philippoussis.....

Then all of a sudden Nadal appears on the scene and things begin to even out.

In comparison Djokovic's record is much more impressive. Nine out of his ten GS titles have been at the expense of either Murray, Nadal or Federer....a crop of players that far exceeds in quality anything Federer had to face while he was building up steam.

Shame about the drugs though.
The weak era is real.
