Alternate history DLC based on the WorldWar alternate history novels maybe?

I wasn't that annoyed by Sunset Invasion, I mean its DLC you can just turn it off if you don't like it...

So I'm really, really, really thinking about getting the Vicky 2 package. I've never played VIcky 2 though...is this enough for a good time? Is there a mod I need to add for it to be worth a drat?

Victoria 2 grew on me over time, I first didn't like it due to its focus away from military and onto industrialization and development, but over time I have grown to like it a lot.

That, and the period of time it takes place in was turbulent, and Victoria 2 really captures this.

For mods, I really like the PoD mod with Divide by Zero, but I'd recommend a mod-less playthrough first to get a handle on POPs, industry and economy.

The next "Death Star" is actually going to be a bunch of smaller ships that all do that beam-focusing thing into one big beam.

A Species 8472 like fleet would be kind of cool. Overall I'm pretty optimistic for Stellaris with what I've seen so far. The ship design with its three sections is kind of similar to Sword of the Stars which I liked, but it has enough going on to stand on its own.

On the 'ancient threat' bandwagon, isn't the Fallen Empires thing covering that? I like the idea of the Shadows or the Vorlons showing up with planet killers or getting all the younger races to go to war with each other.

That said Administrative Sectors sound like I will be in control of an Empire, not a list of planets which I am very excited for. :rms:

I once had a brainwave about a Crusader Kings 2 character-esque game involving spy agencies for the Cold War.

The "world" kind of plays on its own with AI. Each human player (and I guess AI players) takes on the role of the head of a spy agency. The players subtlety impact the world around them with their actions rather than "control" the country.

It would have a kind of inheritance system like in CK as well (ie, politburo for the Soviets, Congress for USA).

I thought it would work well with traits, for example an enemy spy who is a drunk could unintentionally spill out secrets and thus his spymaster would either have him somewhere he couldn't do damage or have him killed, where as the seducer trait was pretty amazing to create James Bond-esque scenarios.

Was just a thought I had one day, as I started to think about it more and more I realized how hard game design is and gave up :P

Twilight Struggle is an amazing game though, I try to play a game of it every fortnight.

Speaking of AH as much as I love kaiserreich is there any other cool alternate history than it for Darkest Hour? Because even though I spent only a hundred hours on it i wanna try something else

I really like the Communist Germany one, where you can choose an alternate history for Germany and effects from that. It involves a second world war where Germany and the USSR fighter over who is the better Socialist, then eventually the capitalist powers engineering a war against you. Has a lot of cool alt history events if you are bored with Kaiserreich.
