Dapper Dan posted:This letter pretty much explains all the problems with Star Citizen. I truly feel bad for anyone who has to work in a place like that. I'm assuming their future employers are going to look at Star Citizen and roll their eyes. If it is this bad, these devs are hosed whether they walk or stay - and I doubt CIG has fostered any kind of long term employment goals for its employees.

Lord_NeckBeard posted:I was watching Fart Shitizen off and on from 2012 to 2014, holding off on building a gaming rig for it and never bought any ships. I got married and bought a couple watches to go with my $20 wedding ring with the money I would have spent on a decent gaming pc. My interest was reignited by all the drama that was bubbling up since the summer. I've been lurking for a while on the old thread, after seeing an @dsmart tweet with a link to it, and today's drama finally pushed me over the edge. The old thread and its baby are the most entertaining threads I've ever read on a forum. Here is my goddamn Hello, friend. The Star Citizen dream is still alive, have faith. We can make it to the stars, all we need is the power of friendship!

Don't give up on the dream. CIG will be selling Javelins on November 19th, probably for a low-low price of $2,500-$3,000.

Cpt Underpants posted:For those who are just tuning in, Slavik used to be a mod with pretty obvious anti-goon bias. The reason for this we think is because he lost the equivalent of about US$500 of stuff in EVE Online to Warr Akini of Goonswarm's Ministry of Love. Here is Slavik's lossmail. We know that is him because it is exactly the same player name (K89Slavik) as their Skype handle which they advertised in their RSI signature block. We heard via various sources that he claimed to have sold the character, but that just wasn't true because you have to be in an NPC run corporation in EVE to be able to transfer the character, based on the timeline and their character history, it couldn't have been sold. Good stuff, thanks for filling us new individuals in.

These guys will call the actual police on you if you step out of line. Hello friends, when is the show starting? Also I looked through 2015's WARN report for Texas and did not spot anything on CIG. Shouldn't they be in it if they're closing studios down?quote:Under certain circumstances, the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act requires you to provide notice 60 days in advance of plant closures or mass layoffs. The WARN Act is intended to offer protection to workers, their families and communities.

Justin Tyme posted:https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/3r7rrm/can_i_just_say_something_about_illfonic/ Agreed 100% I used to share the sentiment that Illfonic was to blame for dropping the ball, then listened to that Beyond The Horizon (Oct 17) podcast where DS touched on this. It blew my mind how easily people get brain washed into believing CIG's development problems are anyone's fault besides CIG and CIG certainly hasn't done the ethical thing by coming clean and stating the obvious in this respect to at least wipe clean the massive poo poo stain they left on Illfonic's integrity as a company. Regardless of Illfonic's reputation preceding Star Marine, they have released their games and absolutely don't deserve some of the poo poo critics that are delusional Star Citizen fanatics. What is the worse that would happen by simply coming out and saying "We're apologizing to Illfonic for immersing them in a frustrating scenario for which we've decided as a company and on behalf of the backers and Illfonic to part ways and keep development in house so they can work on other things"?. Now it only appears anybody who touches this project is going to get burned, and it's Hollywood all over again for CR. to0terfish fucked around with this message at 21:21 on Nov 2, 2015 |
