Exploration is ill-advised.
Clearly the solution is to always include puns in your reports.

I admit it, my palate has been shaped by my past experiences. Have you ever had Canadian cheddar? Canadians do not gently caress around when it comes to cheddar. I got better, though.

a man is watching a webcam of a tree in a park. in the background is a familiar northern skyline. it is autumn

as time passes, the man becomes more and more anxious. finally, a single leaf detaches from a branch and drifts lazily downward.

frantically the man turns two keys that unlock a cover over a large red button. his hand rests gently upon it. time slows as we see the reflection of this falling leaf in the man's eyes.

the leaf, at last, makes gentle perch upon the grass.

the man pushes the button.

on an idyllic Floridian highway, the sun is shining and buyers are singing. suddenly, all the amber alert activate simultaneously. every smartphone starts buzzing and beeping.

on the horizon, a cloud of dust, smoke, and fire billows larger and larger. someone opens their glove compartment to retrieve goggles and a bandana.

somewhere in the background, the roar of drums and guitars swells to an unmistakable crescendo

the snowbirds are coming, you say to yourself. and i am on the fury road

About creating a language that works like an rear end in a top hat genie who technically satisfies wishes:

TooMuchAbstraction posted:

The "rear end in a top hat genie" language legit sounds pretty funny.
  • When applied to an integer, "!" does a factorial (even if used as a prefix). So does "not". Likewise, "^" is exponentiation instead of xor.
  • len(str) returns the average bytes per character of the string.
  • Use = for comparing booleans, == for chars, === for ints, ==== for longs, etc.
  • min(x, y) returns the amount of time between x and y, in minutes. max(x, y) returns the maximum representable value that the types of x and y can represent.

Dr. Stab posted:

It returns the width, in pixels, of the string, in an unspecified font.

e:

x / y returns x half the time, and y the other half.
x - y returns the a list of all of the integers between x and y inclusive.
% is a unary operator which divides a number by 100.
> < => <= >> and << are all assignment operators
x != y assigns to x an arbitrary value which is is not y.

This is somehow both wrong and almost right. It's like a carpenter who doesn't understand how to use a table saw so they cut all lumber by filing for a long time in the same spot. How did you get a job doing carpentry without learning about saws?!?!

Look dude, I'm just trying to cut this board. My file works for me, I'm not interested in buying new tools, so if you could just help me cut this board and lay off about how I'm "doing it wrong" or whatever, I've got a bathroom to remodel here and these joists ain't gonna notch themselves.
