Death By The Blues posted:The more the Knicks lose, the happier Raptor fan's get and looks like they are heading into a tough stretch post all-star break. How has Ivan Rabb, Ellenson, and Brice Johnson looked? Any chance they could fall into the 10-14th spot? I think it might be a good idea to wait until after the trade deadline to think about where the Raptors might be picking.

What is the tier breakdown in this draft? There's 1/2, then there seems to be a grouping at around... 3-6? But how does it break down from thereon. And I gather that the draft is supposed to be weak in the 3-10ish range, but how does it fare after that?

How will the NBA determine draft order/lottery odds for the Denver, Milwaukee, Sacramento tie? Coin flip?

I thought that didn't happen until after the lottery. e: Right on cue, Ford publishes this. So yeah, probably 8-10 for Toronto, with something like a 1% chance of picking in the top 3. Gobias Ind. posted:Can't see this because I don't have Insider - my understanding is that pick swaps will happen after the lottery, so the only way that the Raps end up with a top 3 pick is if BOTH the Knicks pick and the Nuggets get drawn in the lottery. Is that right? Yeah. So the NYK pick is 15% to make top 3, the Denver pick is 6.9% to hit top 3, and both of those have to 'hit' for Toronto to pick 2nd or 3rd. e: I think Toronto can't pick 7th, since the NYK pick is currently in the 7th slot and they would only get that if the Denver pick moved up, which would push the NYK pick back to 8th.

When Chad Ford puts together his mock drafts, does he usually have sources for which teams are likely to make which picks, or is he doing the whole guessing thing himself? I ask because it seems like he's had Marquese Chriss to the Raptors for months now.

Dejan Bimble posted:He does have sources, but they're an aggregate. Other gm's think they're going to do x and x makes sense, so they hit Chriss in the mock. Other picks are purely informed guesswork. And if they're wrong, Chad will change them in a couple years. Alright, that's good, because I've decided that I really want the Raptors to draft Jaylen Brown since in the mush of people available at that area he at least seems cool.

I am cheering for the less than a percentage point chance of Toronto picking in the top 3, and I think you should be too because that would be hilarious.

The ESPN mock had Marquese Chriss to the Raptors forever but now it looks like he's gonna go higher, so which 4s are gonna be there at 9? Are they gonna be reaching for Skal/Sabonis?

So should I want the Kings to take Chriss or the Kings to go off board and let Chriss fall to Toronto? I get that Chriss was hilariously bad at 4, but the standards are lower at 9.
