I hate to say this, but I was turned on (no pun intended) to this fact when I was watching a relatively-recent porno and they shot some of the photo model prologue bits with a drone: there was a couple high angle shots of the pornstar lounging at the pool and I was wondering if they actually got a crane or a helicopter until I saw the shadow of a quadrotor hovering at the edge of the frame.

If they're employing quadrotors in porn, then it's likely a lot of people are using them for aerial or crane shots nowadays, especially since they're cheap enough for independent filmmakers now.

For instance, here's a drone operator replicating the famous shot of the ECTO-1 crossing the Brooklyn Bridge in Ghostbusters...

Mostly what I've seen is the beginning of the third one, which I guess is supposed to be pretty awful. A couple times in elementary school they put it on the CCTV system. The creatures looked like absolute poo poo and I had no idea what was going on.

I love The Neverending Story, and yet somehow this is the first time I've heard that they made another sequel. The second one is just so bad.

Play it again Sam.

I feel like I hear the "of all the gin joints..." line parodied or just used verbatim in TV/film constantly, definitely more than "play it again Sam". That and "are you taking to me?", which I most recently saw in Antman.

Saw the trailer for this before Deadpool, the concept looks really cool but I started feeling motion sickness about 30 seconds into it. :/ May have just been sitting too close to the screen.

I guess the BBC made a TV series out of it in the nineties, but I'm surprised no one has ever attempted to make a film or films out of Mary Stewart's The Crystal Cave series. You've got Merlin, King Arthur, it's a YA series before YA was a thing, you can film it all back to back and get a trilogy. Bam. Success.

Then again I haven't read the books since I was probably 14, maybe they don't hold up as much as I remember.

Clancy Brown is, too, so now you have to wonder if the Coens are secretly huge Highlander fans. Maybe if Adrian Paul is in the next season of the Fargo TV show.

I always felt bad about Adrian Paul's career after Highlander TV. Dude seemed so talented, good looking, and clearly had the martial arts skills to be more than just a lovely supporting actor in terrible sci-fi/fantasy DTV for the next 16 years. At least he's still getting work, I guess.

Hmmm...

As an aside, what is people's feelings on posting secret filming shots like this here? Often they don't really show the final form things look in the film, but they can reveal some things that look weird well ahead of time (and also inadvertently spoil stuff!) so it's sort of a mixed bag

If I squint, I can see him as Batou. Maybe.

I can see why some people might not want to see these, they can be a bit spoilery, but as a GitS fan I find them pretty interesting. Unironically looking forward to the live action version.

Has there ever been a genuinely good live action adaptation of an animated property? A live action adaptation of the same original source material doesn't count, it must be adapting the animated series itself. The only examples I can think of are live action/animation hybrids (Roger Rabbit, Space Jam, etc) and Speed Racer.

Transformers? The first one is kind of fun.......

I had to actually scan though a list of all live action versions of animated properties to find something. My god is there a lot of poo poo there. Lots of movies based on comics that turned out great, though.

Is there a Cops where a guy was hiding underneath a kiddie pool or am I morphing Cops and Reno:911 in my mind?

Yep, can't find a clip of it but that bit of the cop kicking the kiddie pool off the guy was so popular it made it into the episode intro segment for at least the last 10-15 seasons.

I hope the proud prostitute lady makes a cameo in the movie:

It's to bad they keep adapting TH White and not Le Morte because King Arthur in Le Morte de Arthur is a complete poo poo head.

He sleeps with his aunt Morgaina. Merlin is a total dick, and he ordered all children born in May put to death in order to kill Mordred.

Also he threatens to burn Guinevere alive but Lancelot saves her.

In some stories he has Guinevere torn apart by dogs.

He's generally in the books kind of a idiot and super naive. Like he's not portrayed well at all in the pre Vulgate cycle. He actually kills his son Amr when he is mentioned by Monmouth.

Also TH White and Tennyson , and Malory place him in like 1200 ad when him the original texts he is around 530 to 580 ad.

I'll probably go to my grave waiting for a film adaptation of Mary Stewart's The Crystal Cave series.
