After watching New Year's Dash, I'm even more baffled as to why the Bucks took the belts last night. Omega called out AJ for being a bad leader, and that would make more sense if it came the night after every BC member lost a title match.

He's second generation, his brother was employed for a good while and didn't seem to leave with heat, and he's jacked as poo poo. Fale is probably only getting a look because Bálor is tired of walking down the ramp.

Newbie question: Are there special rules for the NEVER title matches or something like that? I'm not quite sure what the distinction for that belt is vs the other NJPW ones which are a little more clearly defined.
|
# ? Jan 6, 2016 08:24 |
|
it was originally supposed to be the belt all the unsigned outside talent and young njpw guys on the rise would wrestle for with its own NEVER branded shows but that was scrapped pretty early on and its since become ishii's gold watch and added prestige for semi-main events it doesn't have its own rules like the ROH Pure title it's just the division where guys hit each other really hard oatgan fucked around with this message at 08:33 on Jan 6, 2016 |

It's an openweight belt where the rest are Jr or Heavyweight.
|
# ? Jan 6, 2016 08:43 |

they call it openweight but i don't think a junior has ever wrestled for it
|
# ? Jan 6, 2016 08:46 |

Their weight classes are weird though, purely by weight class Shibata's technically a junior.
|
# ? Jan 6, 2016 09:00 |

The distinction has been totally arbitrary for a while now. Yesterday Kenny Omega just announced he was no longer a junior. With the heavyweights doing just as much flying and spotty sprints as the juniors the only big difference is card placement

Didn't Ibushi contend for the NEVER belt before he transitioned to heavyweight as well?

In light of recent news I hope NJPW can re-open relations with TNA to the level where they can send those two new heavyweight prospects over there when its time for their excursions but nothing else. I honestly think there's a very good chance Okada would be in WWE right now if his excursion had been in CMLL instead.
