Do not follow the Way of Lapierre, Kevin Porter. That way lies futility and suffering. You are not Evgeni Malkin, do not try to deke through dudes. You are Kevin Porter and it will not end well.

A Thing Coaches Do that really gets on my nerves is giving more minutes to the bottom forward lines when protecting a third period lead. Those guys are not the bottom six because they're better at defense, that's just something people say in an effort to be nice. They're the bottom six because they're worse at ice hockey than the top six. I mean sure, if you're up 4 goals then give your good players some rest and keep them away from the other team's thugs, but if you're only up 1 or 2 then you are still playing a goddamn hockey game. Thankfully Sullivan is not NEARLY as bad about this as Johnston was though.

Mage_Boy posted:Loser point again, can't afford to give those to Metro teams. Carolina isn't going to finish ahead of Pittsburgh but when the Penguins fall 2 or 3 points short of the playoffs, leaving a point here and a point there on the table by blowing games they drat well should have won like this one through Therrienesque megaturtling on a 1 goal lead is going to be the reason why. I think the Canes are probably going to score in OT and it won't get to a shootout.

Crosby/Hagelin/Letang is the correct 3-on-3 group, give Sullivan credit for that

lol, Kessel completely gassed and ignores wide open Dumoulin to chug it all the way down the ice, around the net and take a shot and miss. Points for determination I guess.
