[ASK] me about OS/2 Warp

SO DEMANDING posted:

the amount of hearsay and smoke-and-mirrors bullshit in data recovery/wiping/forensics kind of stuff is staggering

i am fairly convinced that drivesavers just sits around smoking weed and eating hot pockets. I have never seen them do any good and have seen them take so much crying grandma money.

When you have enough overhead to give the computer shop a TEN PERCENT CUT of your price, just for giving their customer a business card with your name on it, you're probably overcharging.

It's weird to imagine physically touching/handling/destroying computer hardware that isn't meant for a personal gaming rig or hobby. I suppose I don't really 'get' unskilled labor though.

it's just a modern manifestation of the long term effort of capital to erode the power of the working class

co-opt a large group of people with disproportionate compensation for no actual labor and they'll take care of destroying worker solidarity themselves while feeling incredibly smug about it

That kind of work is for people who get certifications and such and carry multitools. I would also never work anywhere in technology that didn't offer top of the line MacBook pros.
