I like your videos and the parking garage was very cool and different, but I totally disagree with the bolded part. When the stakes are crashing your airplane into a drone (or anything, really) and having nowhere to make an emergency landing except into a burning forest, then grounding all air traffic isn't too extreme. I agree with the rest, though. Anyway, I'm glad you're still posting these. On top of building my own plywood Come to think of it, recording from a drone while sailing sounds pretty awesome. Have you ever done any over-water flying? I remember watching some highway footage that you took while in a car, which was also pretty neat.

I agree with the rest, though. i understand why they make the policies they do, but realistically i don't see a drone doing more damage than a bird. i have no problem with a better safe than sorry policy, there just seems to be this general mass hysteria when it comes to drones. i haven't really flown over water much, haven't really had many opportunities. i try to stay away from people as much as possible and all the cool water spots near me have lots of people usually.

love your vids man not sure the direction of 'just high speed racing' to 'bonus 12 minutes of me talking in a parking lot and taking vape breaks' is the best direction to go though

also if you hooked a vape up to your quad copter could you set it up so a button makes it take a fat vape toke and since the blades are shooting air down you fly it above your head for a vape burst as you lean your nostrils up and snort a huge vape cloud from the toy robot

I can also state that they ALL landed immediately after being asked to do so. 2 of them were near the end of an 8-hour flight needed to achieve the highest level in the soaring achievement program of the League of Silent Flight. One of them is also a full scale pilot and long time military program UAV pilot. He is also a well known model maker for the movies and has flown RC planes in numerous Hollywood blockbusters. So these are serious folks who are accomplished RC and full scale pilots and they abandoned their record attempts without question or hesitation. BTW, all the planes they were flying were larger than 4-foot spans and none of them interfered with any fire-fighting activities in the area.- Bill Malvey http://www.forbes.com/sites/johngog...k/#2928eaf2279e quote:Contrary to what one would expect from all the media hype about the risks posed to manned aircraft by today’s popular quadcopters, the FAA’s list of sightings does not support the position that these small hobby helicopters – including the most popular Phantom models manufactured by DJI – pose a significant danger to aircraft. What the list does support is that the FAA is keeping a record of all drone sightings it receives regardless of whether the reports indicate a safety problem or not. In fact, some of the reports listed conclude that there was no actual or potential safety impact. The list contains a number of reports of quadcopters operating overhead but no indication of any safety impact at all to persons, property or manned aircraft. It’s not clear to me what purpose this list serves the FAA.
