Once today's kids are 70 years old they're probably be the same. Maybe the fact that continental Europe is mostly Catholic, and the anglosphere is mostly protestant? Though that's probably reaching. In Germany it is the atheist eastern part where free body culture was promoted heavily during the socialist regime. So I don't think Catholicism plays into that.
