Buy Meat and freeze it mang
I get those nice rear end prime nystrips, $80 for 4. It's a nice once a month treat.
Two prime strips at a nice restaurant with sides would cost ya over $100.
The seafood is also good. Giant rear end Tiger shrimp and Lobster tails.
Plus good reasonably priced wine.
You can get some good luxury foods for less then a restaurant and make a nice dinner for bae.

Bulk is probably relative.
What we get at a regular supermarket may be considered bulk there.
I've worked in Japan for a bit and yeah food comes in slightly smaller portions but it's not as drastic as you'd think. But things were almost always sold individually. I don't remember seeing any sort of mutipacks, but I admittedly only shopped at convenience stores, not full size grocery stores.

We used to go to BJ's before the Costco opened here. I always kind of remember it as a slightly grubbier Costco.

I do remember that they used to have a giant chain-linked area where they'd toss all the shipping boxes and let customers use them to hold the poo poo they bought; one time the door in was open and you better believe 10-year-old me took a sprinting gainer into the giant mountain of boxes.

So a step up from Sam's but still no glorious Costco huh
