I have a few individual reviews I'd just like the showcase here, starting with Errant Signal's Saints Row IV and Kitsch video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nT03ezSnVL8

This video was my first exposure to his stuff and by far my favorite. I particularly enjoy his reviews in which he tackles anything bigger than just reviewing a game, such as this and his other old Short Wave Transmissions. This video also was really helpful in giving me words for why I love Saints Row IV so much more than what is technically a better game in GTA V.

Next is goon Hbomberguy's Fallout 3 video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLJ1gyIzg78

Primarily I, almost by default, love any chance taken to poo poo talk Bethesda RPGs and this one is one of my favorites. Hbomb is pretty much the only critic I currently follow that fills his reviews with humor, as sort of a hard reversal on younger-me's habit of watching a lot of Channel Awesome reviewers, but that works in tandem with the criticisms he makes, as opposed to replacing any real criticism like a lot of the people I watched on CA years ago. I can't give Hbomb an unqualified recommendation in this particular thread, however, since a number of his videos are about people and their political ideas, but his pop culture stuff is largely separate.

Last is Noah Caldwell-Gervais and his rear end in a top hat Simulators video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kivtv6wabBk

Another first exposure, this got posted in the other Internet Critic thread and Noah quickly became one of my favorite critics. This particular video gave me some insight into a genre that I had no interest in playing, while also giving a pretty neat anecdote to the appeal of such a genre. In general, NCG does a lot of fairly lengthy criticisms, often on a whole series of games. Whenever he comes up in the other thread, its a common criticism that he has a lot of vocal flubs that could have been better edited, which is fair, but it's fairly minor. He also freelances and will in the future be doing other videos about his travels, now that he, his wife, and his dog are living in an old bus. He's also probably the most generous person in the business, as he is very quick to apologize for letting down patrons due to delays and always grants refunds.

Heather Alexandra is a Kotaku writer who got started doing critical Let's Plays of Shadows of the Colossus and Far Cry 4. She also used to have a series called Minicrits that aren't far off from Errant Signal's videos. You can find both of those on her channel, along with a few "Let's Remember" series on games like Skies of Arcadia here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtfjXS1Ay_yXHTs8XEjNwwg/featured

And here's an example of her video work over at Kotaku

He's amazing.

My favourite cooking video is what me and my friends call 'DSP and the family breakfast mystery', in which where he makes egg-in-a-hole toast and calls it 'egg with a hole in the middle' and has no idea what the name is.

Looks like the videos from this channel are down, couldn't find a backup from a cursory google search.

Has anyone bought/borrowed copies of the films featured in Best of the Worst? I must admit I've been tempted by Xtro and Dangerous Men. Anyone else?

I've seen Xtro due to it being recommended by a bunch of people in the horror movie thread. They were all pretty into it but the only part I really like is that one really memorable shot of the car driving by and the alien appears briefly on the side of the road.

My favorite reviewer is this guy I discovered a few months ago, Joseph Anderson. He does long form (and I do mean long) discussions about games, mostly focusing on plot and gameplay.

Here's a great example, a long rear end Fallout 4 video:

He also went back to it to talk more about the game and the DLCs, including outlining all the ways Nuka-World is poo poo

They're let's players, so I dunno how well they fit into this thread, but I gotta second that they're both pretty fun to watch.

There is actually a thread for off-site LPers in Let's Play that I am not gonna try to link because I'm on mobile and still pretty bad at it. Cyron asked about Totalbiscuit earlier and he has come up there several times.

I'm afraid I'm finally being 'that's the joke'-d, but I'm pretty sure nobody involved with Cinema Sins thinks of what they do as serious film critique; it's supposed to be a comedy series, right?

The second Everything Wrong With Everything Wrong With video goes into specifics about how that doesn't really hold up. A lot of the nitpicky stuff in EWW that EWWEWW points out as false are used by the same guy as legitimate criticisms elsewhere. It's played up for comedy but they are reflective of the actual poor analysis being made.

The only thing worse than CinemaSins is Shellshellshell's fevered obsession with doing a boring-rear end nitpick video of everything they upload.

Yeah all 3 of the things they uploaded.
