The switch now that I've had it in my hands is by far the most attractive portable ever made, although it still feels solid compared to say a tablet or phone in durability, just not old school Gameboy levels or even DS. But those things also looked awful. As far as a portable goes it really works well, and the fact it's really the first portable with easy local multiplayer is even better. The fact the joy con are two small controllers are nice and although I don't have big hands they feel really nice in the grip so I don't see the need for a pro controller and my second controller purchase will just be two joycon and a charging grip. Good portable console, once it has more games it'll be easily one of my favorite as far as design philosophy goes. The charging port location is unfortunate but that's also the only way it could top load dock without having to be upside down and the power switch and volume be on the bottom, which would not be good.

Pokemon X/Y didn't come out until 2.5 years after the initial 3DS launch. They just made more money than god with Sun/Moon back 4 months ago. We're 2+ years from a mainline Pokemon game on the Switch.

Making Pokemon Stars also for the switch but with hd graphics would be really nice, especially if console sales continue to do well, and it'd be a good second year game to push holiday sales for next year of the console.

So I just bought the officially licensed HORI nintendo lan adapter, yet when I plugged it in all the ports (that all displayed getting power when plugged), the dongle didn't work and won't connect my internet. My home computer recognized it and even found drivers for it, but the official product isn't working when plugged in. I power cycled my router as well. Any ideas what the issues might be? I've tried several different ethernet cables and the ports on my router/modem.

This issue legit annoys me since I just loving bought an official product and it not working out of the box is weirdly un-nintendo.

LAN adapter update, I went back to Wal-Mart and exchanged it, and the new one I plugged in worked immediately. So some of the official nintendo LAN adapters are clearly faulty, and if you know your usb ports are working and your cable and internet are working and done power cycles to everything, just go exchange the adapter because its probably faulty. If it doesn't work instantly, something is wrong with the adapter most likely.

Also, just found a pro controller, and its an incredibly nice controller. It's sort of insane how expensive joycons are once you factor in a lack of grip, and thus necessity of a charger or a 15 dollar plastic grip, putting a single controller at 95-110 usd. I think I'll just use the joycon in the console unless I want to do tablet hand held, pro controller is just better in every way.

Plus lol if I'm ever going to get enough people to come play this thing and need 8 joycon lol

Yeah I don't think nintendo treats the console and it's games the same as it does its toys, aka amiibo and the lovely nes classic, which is a plug and play toy.

They seem pretty much in panic production mode if anything and happy their japanese shareholders aren't commiting seppuku over a bad launch.

But yeah that's the main issue, lack of knowledge to plan, also when you live paycheck to paycheck its hard to save or think in such terms. It's why tax return windfall season is a bad thing for the lower income tax brackets, because while it helps consumer capitalism, it's taking money out that could have been paying for kids meals when they needed it several months back after a car broke down. My tax return just ends up in savings or pays outstanding bills lol

The best switch case by far is the special edition Zelda one and I'm glad I bought it on Tuesday at my local Walmart. Has enough room for 12 games, earbuds and the strap grips, and the console. Only shame is you'll need to carry the grip in your bag. It's also really sturdy, has a nice metal zipper grip, and is entirely rubber she'll isn't painted but molded so it doesn't wear poorly.

I mean that travel case looks like any old bag but the other bags are just a baguette if you get a strap, and if you don't its a clutch.

If you get it in crimson leather, it's pretty flamboyant for even a women's hand bag if its supposed to be typical-wear and not matching an outfit.

I wonder if going forward if games from Nintendo will trend to work better on the tv than portable. Basically all my indie games run fine on either mode, but Zelda always has these random small minor quirks like the framerate drops in specific areas, and also the occasional weird graphical glitch stutter where it's like a small wave of black interrupts a corner of the screen or whatever, but this only happens in tv mode. Splatoon 2 also spoiled me with frame rates.

I definitely need practice but it seems the dualies are my best shot because they are similar mindset to playing Tracer in Overwatch. Paint roller is really foreign to me and I'm awful at splatting people with it, and the expert gap is pretty large for me since I don't really play controller shooters, and the gyro controls are different in Zelda. If I could get some single player experience to get the controls down pat I think I'll really enjoy this, since before I only got to try it a few times on the Wii U at a friend's place.

Super excited though, this shooter is really something and with some time I think I'll really love it.

I really like dualies though, once I learned to roll properly you can really deny people kills on you and get away without needing ink superiority.

See Overwatch was a 40 dollar game, and only had multiplayer, and this game is going to have more maps at start than just 5 like originally, right? Plus it's going to have singleplayer.
