The Soviet was a good choice too, but he really needed the mostly-unarmed drunken mob to be in his true element of teaching them to kill nazis with pointed sticks.

I feel like Plissken has a better chance of turning this more Jagged Alliance when paired with a bunch of American academy dropouts.

The mighty scissors dark souls parry is the highlight of this story, and this one already included a man taking a bullet to the knee and still headcapping someone.

The hand-to-hand combat rules are based on the crazy hyper realistic medieval melee combat game that started the whole affair, Sword's Path: Glory, and the Phoenix Command games were to a large degree intended as slot-in supplements for other games. Like Call of Cthulhu but wish it more correctly modelled the effects of .38 Special to the spleen at 40 yards? Use Phoenix Command Small Arms Combat System! So in addition to a bunch of pre-modern melee weapons that look like they're ripped from some early edition of AD&D, there's also a small selection of modern weapons including bottles, chairs, various knives, scissors, an icepick, a screwdriver, a whip, and two types of chainsaw, just in case your game of Mercenaries, Spies, & Private Eyes has an Indiana Jones ripoff in it.

God I miss this era of RPGs sometimes

You know, we should just run with how the Hayard Gunnes company has basically run off to do its own thing and forgotten we exist (or that we took 1 million dollars from them to hire a bunch of idiots who are busy attacking each other with scissors while a Snake Plissken cosplayer/actual Snake Plissken watch and nod approvingly) and just wander off to get into trouble once we determine who is in charge
