So, while I am familiar with Rogue Trader, I've never played it, and in fact I've never played much of any proper tabletop despite many attempts otherwise. I'd like to try this out, but it'd be a teaching experience and I might need help making my character. Up to you, DM.

Some people were fixers. Some people were dealers. Some people were beggers. Some left the Hive to join the Imperial Guard. Jack followed the path of the gun. But his gun did not belong to the God-Emperor, fighting for his legions. His gun was used to carve a path through the hive, to give Jack the security he needed to live a comfortable life. As a mere teenager, Jack quickly gained the attention of his local hive gangers, and was given the choice of joining up with them or being added to the Hive’s nutrient vats. It was an offer he couldn’t refuse. Jack worked first as a collector, menacing the community he had once grown in, but he rose in the ranks quickly, becoming a bodyguard and then a hitman for the gangers in a matter of years. But his skill in petty larceny, murder and protection was not necessarily his passion. Jack yearned for something greater. A fight he could never get in the enclosed spaces of his hive. Something that could truly rouse his heart. By the time a Rogue Trader ship owned by the Obeywan-Closeau family finally landed on Jack’s homeworld, he was completely fed up with his situation. He didn’t want to be commanded by lowlives a second longer. He actively sought out the opportunity to be pressganged. It was not an easy process however: his gang viewed him as an indispensable asset, and refused to let him leave. Jack had to kill his boss and several of his former coworkers just to get topside. Life in a ship was strange for a hiver like Jack Nathanial, but he adapted over time. He gradually found himself promoted off the back of his raw talent with weaponry and combat instincts. Some time passed, and the formerly fresh faced renegade ganger became a veteran Arch Militant. While he may not be the most personable or booksmart man aboutships, up against the forces of Chaos or the accursed Xeno you can count none a more reliable ally than Jack. If I'm reading things right I think I could get a best-quality meltagun with my acquisition That would be real dirty

Werix posted:Nope. Melta gun is rare, which is -10. Single item is +30 for a +20 mod. Then best quality gives a -30, for a total of -10, which is not +0(-10+-30+30=-10). Could do a good quality. That would still be pretty rad. It's a thought. edit: Updated my sheet with my acquisition. JT Jag fucked around with this message at 03:13 on Apr 25, 2017 |

Let's not finalize it right this second, but we can use those stats as the baseline for the ship when we talk and tinker on the specifics in session one.

How about those of us who are available meet up next Wednesday to throw the ship together, do a bit of intro stuff, maybe hash out character relationships, and then we do our first proper session on like the 24th of May

First Impressions: Thatbastardken as Adelaide Obeywan-Closeau, Rogue Trader I’ve been acquainted with My Lady for a long time. Near as long as I’ve been on this ship, I reckon. I am sworn to her service, none others. I kill who she wants killed, fix problems she needs fixing. In return, I don’t get stranded back on the Emperor-forsaken planet I came from, or any like it. It’s an arrangement we both find equitable. Dachshundofdoom as Cedric Wolde, Astropath Wolde, what an ornery little shite. I’d never heard of an old Psyker until I met him. Then again, I hadn’t heard of many old Guardsmen either, and he used to be one of those too--- he won’t let any of us forget it, either. Feh! Maybe he’s just an unlikely person. Long as he doesn’t look down on me, we can see eye to eye. Well, maybe not eye to eye, seeing as his got burned out--- another thing he keeps reminding us about--- but close enough. Professor_curly as Magos-Explorator Varsen 133 "Lee", explorator Ah, the Techpriest. Most people either stay away from the Martians, fear or even spite them. Because they look different, see, and talk weird, and all that rot. Those people are idiots. Do you know who invented our guns? The only ones capable of repairing them? The first ones I go to if I want to upgrade my munitions or get something new? It’s the Emperor-praised Mechanicus, that’s who! So that’s why I do everything in my power to stay on Varsen’s good side. Is he a human being and not some up-jumped servitor in there? I don’t really know, and I don’t really care. Chin up everything sucks as Ivan 'Brand' Skevano, Missionary Ah, Brand. Brand, he spreads the good word aboutships and all. We have some things in common, him and I: we both fell in with certain crowds when we were young, had to learn how to take care of ourselves fast. These things aren’t why I like him, though they do help. Nah, my favorite thing about Brand is his arm. Brand’s got one hell of a sword-arm. He’s a sight better than me in a melee. I’d almost be embarrassed, but I just gotta remind myself that he cheats: he’s got the God-Emperor on his side. And Wiegieman as Tacito Coronada, Void Master I’ve been watching Coronada at the shooting range. Hate to say it, but the guy is good with a pistol. Real good. Maybe better than me. No one on this ship is as good as I am with anything lasgun-sized, but still, it’s a second martial skill that one of my crewmates has matched or passed me in. Besides that, seems like a good guy.

I'm going to be driving out of town on Monday. I should be at my hotel by the time the game starts, and capable of making the game, but I can't 100% guarantee it. Since it's fine with everyone else, it's fine if you go ahead.

“The Forces of Chaos”. This is the common term for those who oppose the Corpse-Emperor, who serve the Gods of Impulse and Will. Often enough, it is an accurate term. Where the Legion goes, it wreaks destruction and havoc along their path. Service to the Gods is rewarded with greater might and ability to warp reality itself to your liking, to create your own worlds, to forge your own paths. But even an ever-shifting horde needs a supply chain. A horrible, fleshy mass with uncountable teeth needs a steel spine to be capable of movement. And every fire needs more tender to continue to burn. In this, the Iron Warriors are specialists. The Iron Warriors legion are masters of siege-craft, of trap-laying, of sustained offensive war. While many members of the Chaos Legions are content to use numbers and raw force to overcome the fortresses of the enemy, the Iron Legions specialize in guile, in concentrated power, and in troop management. Patient fighters, they are known to wait out their enemy, probing their defenses, before striking a devastating, shattering blow when they least expect it. Warpsmith Cravvo the Constructor is cut directly from this cloth. He has always had a distaste for the simplistic manner many of his fellow Brethren go about things. The Black Legion has failed so many times in the past, due to personality conflicts, poor tactics and senseless decisions. Terra could have been claimed long ago, if only everything worked like it *should*. Machines are so much simpler than men. When properly maintained, machines will do the exact thing you want it to do, the exact same way, every time. But men… men are unpredictable. But perhaps, with some force of his own, and using the selfish motivation of others, Cravvo might be able to start fixing these errors. pre:Name: Cravvo the Constructor Archetype: Warpsmith Alignment: Unaligned Pride: Craftsmanship Disgrace: Destruction Motivation: Innovation Origins D100 Advances WS 32 (27 + 5) BS 43 (27 + 15) S 40 (30 + 10) T 50 (35 + 15) Ag 43 (33 + 20) Int 61 (41 + 20) Per 40 (30 + 10) Will 40 (30 + 10) Fel 26 (26 Wounds: 19 Infamy: 30 IP: 9 CP: 15 XP: 4600 Spent: 4550 Skills Athletics Awareness Common Lore (War) Dodge Forbidden Lore (Adeptus Astartes, The Horus Heresy, The Long War, Adeptus Mechanicus, Demonology) Linguistics (Low Gothic) Navigate (Surface) Operate (Surface) Parry Trade (Armourer) Scrutiny Linguistics (Techno-Lingua) Medicae Scholastic Lore (Occult) Tech-Use Security Advancements: Acrobatics Talents Ambidextrous Bulging Biceps Legion Weapon Training Hightened Senses (Hearing, Sight) Nerves of Steel Quick Draw Resistance (Cold, Heat, Poisons) Unarmed Warrior Ancient Warrior Sound Constitution Enemy (Adeptus Mechanicus) Cold Hearted Mechadendrite Use Combat Sense Meditation Technical Knock Unshakeable Will Advancements: Armour-Monger Traits Amphibious Unnatural Strength (+4) Unnatural Toughness (+4) Unnatural Intelligence +2 Mechanicus Implants Mutations Slayer Limb Equipment Legionnaire Power Armour Legionnaire Bolter Legionnaire Combat Knife Fallen Magos Power Axe Cerebral Implant (Good quality) Mind Impulse Unit (Good quality) Utility Mechadendrite Four Dendrite Blades (Normal quality) Plasma Cannon (Slayer Limb) Beguiling Gem (Opponents in Melee must pass a -10 Willpower check) JT Jag fucked around with this message at 03:15 on Apr 3, 2018 |
