Yes, and also no: Macron is still more left wing than Clinton (like if I was in a classic "you're stuck in a room with Macron and Clinton. You have a gun and 1 round" situation, while I'd still try to line them up because I'm a very smart person, I'd put Clinton first to at least guarantee killing her at all costs, even if it means only wounding Macron) and while Trump is a nationalist, he is I think more of a civic nationalist* while Le Pen is more of an ethnic nationalist (not pure ethnic, but enough of one). after that I'm off to bed so I will try to keep it short : As I see it, the EU started as a good idea that served a noble goal : get all the various european countries to trade and work together so they don't try and start yet another world war leading to the death of millions. However, along the way it got turned into a powerful and rather un-democratic superstate that serves the capitalist elites, and it would make sense for France to either leave it or change how the EU works (though that might well be impossible). Obviously leaving the EU doesn't mean giving up on european values, nor does it mean I wouldn't still consider other european nations to be our dear friends and brothers, just, you know, we don't feel like it's really working as it should right now. By 2020 either there will have been massive reforms to EU institutions, or the EU will be a massive joke that nobody respects. Obviously, I'm not an expert geopolitician or anything and this is just my opinion.
