The Metis are a wise and noble people, but it probably wasn't a wise and noble idea to put all of them on the witness stand at once. The platforms had to be reinforced, and swearing in took two days. But come the end of testimony, all who watched and listened felt the cultural divisions of nationality melt away, and jurors could only feel that whatever their own language, Louis Riel was a good man.

Gobble Gobble Gobble!
The Prosecution is so cerebrally limited, he is unaware that Man is Innocent until Proven Guilty, and the Prosecution still doesn't have a lick of evidence of guilt against my client. I'm sure if he had his way, we would all be in the gallows facing His Judgement on the basis of gossip and rumour. But not in this legal system!

I cross examined Prosecution witness General Fred Middleton on the stand. It's rare to see the talent of man not only capable of talking the hind legs off a donkey, but the front two and the tail also. The Generals fanciful stories of battles of yore left the jury quite confused as to how it related to the matters at hand. In the end they saw that, much like the Generals speech, the Prosecutions claims are wildly inaccurate, slanderous and exceedingly sexually explicit.
